in Sickness and in Ressurection | Rodolphus & Bellatrix
There were few advantages to pretending to be Ted Tonks. Of course the fact that it saved his life was the biggest, and getting details on Order members was a close second- but Rodolphus had also liked being privy to the goings on of their social lives. For example, the date of Lily and James’ wedding. An event he initially had very little interest in for personal reasons, but then Rabastan told him of the Death Eater plans to storm the reception, and Rodolphus thought it would be the perfect place to be reunited with his wife.
She’d be in a good mood on account of all the chaos, and if they started fighting it wouldn’t draw any attention. (She might not have issue with public scenes, but Rod preferred to keep these things as private as possible, for the most part.) Plus it was an excellent excuse to get dressed up, put on a good suit and make sure he looked his best when they saw each other again.
He’d hung back for the better part of the night, watching and waiting from in the shadows. When his old colleagues burst onto the scene he did smile a little- their power and presence was still a rush. When the fighting was in full swing he stepped out of his hiding place, deflecting a few spells here and there as he walked through the crowds, waiting for a certain masked figure to pick him out. When one of them began stalking towards him Rodolphus stopped, waiting for her. “Hello darling. I don’t know about you, but frankly I think the decor at our wedding was much better than all this.”
