“Mr. Stark! Mr. Stark.” A voice called out to him, a firm stance from the CEO behind the podium they strung him up on. “Yes dear?” Head turning to the side, eyes finding the voice. “Is it true that some valuable equipment was stolen from your facility in downtown Manhattan?” A neutral expression on his features however he wanted to yell at the people in front of him. But what would that help, he’ll just spark even more tabloid gossip of how he is still unable to control his anger. “Depends on who your source is, but I would say the loss is definitely great and would effect the company in a number of ways.”
A hand reached forward with a recorder after moving away from lips, only to quickly return. “Follow up question. Where was Miss Potts in all of this? Was she not the one instructed to up the security around the facility and in essence this would lead to her being tardy and unreliable? Is she working with the wrecking crew?”
That made him clench his jaw. “First, you have no right to come here and ask how a soul as gentle as Virginia Potts would be part of something like a Bob the Builder crew. She has a lot more self respect than that. And second. No, I don’t think she was part of anything that went wrong within that facility. She already had a lot on her plate as the co-CEO of Stark Industries and she is not to blame in any of this. If you want someone to blame. Blame me. That’s all.” The press jumped up from their chairs trying to force more questions upon him.
Tony turned a deaf ear toward them and made his way back out the room. Short and sweet. Much like himself. But one thing he did not count on was Pepper being there for the whole ordeal. Eyes meeting the woman’s, keeping himself from smiling brightly at her appearance. “So? Do you think the company would be able to recover from my little outburst up there?”
