💗- A memory about a good deed they did

He was...tired. So, tired. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem, the stout skeleton tend to always be in varying stages of tiredness, but how tired he was now was, different. More mentally and emotionally rather than physically. 

Here he was again, mid fight, with someone he could have called one of his best friends, covered in the dust of countless monsters, face blank as they repeatedly attempted to end his life. He could not let them pass. He would not let them pass that’s what he used to say to himself. He didn’t, not anymore, he’s lost count of how many times he’s been seconds away from dusting, only to wake up back in bed, the scar across his ribs, just a bit deeper and, he was just, tired, sick of it. Sick of fighting someone who he considered a friend, sick of watching everyone he knew die, without being able to do anything to stop it.

Ever still, when it came to that time. He paused and looked, at who he thought was his friend and he just, watched, for a second. It was strange, seeing his once cheerful and active friend so, unemotional and lifeless. The face that once held the smile of a child who wanted nothing then to make friends, now showed nothing, an empty vacant stare and nothing else, but even then. He was reminded of better times, times where the pair were happy and enjoying life on the surface.

So, he continued to do nothing, for a few moments longer, to just, speak to his old friend.“hey, kid. you, uh. really like swinging that thing around, huh? how about ya just, listen for a sec, okay?” He took a breath for speaking again, he was really going of track here, he’s not entirely sure what he’s going to say, honestly.“ya didn’t answer before, but...i know, somewhere down there, someone good is in there. someone who wouldn’t want this, someone...someone i considered a friend.”

“come on kid. you remember me right? just...if you’re listening, let’s just, stop, okay? no more fighting, just drop the weapon and we figure all this out, together. just kid...frisk, stop fighting me.” and with that he SPAREd Frisk and, thankfully, in return he was also SPAREd, dropping their weapon

He closed his eyes and, with that the fight was over. Frisk, in tears, finally showing their true colors again, hugged Sans. The skeleton returned the hug, happy that his plan actually worked.“thanks kid. i owe ya one.”

And, that was that. A RESET was done, shortly after and Sans awoke, feeling happy for once. For the moment at least.
