Everyone of us has a dream or a passion that we want to pursue. Some wants to become medical professionals, others want to be an artist and some wants to travel, to go to different places and take adventures. I, too, have that kind of "dream". The dream to go to other places to meet people with different culture and to experience new things.
Even though we have the burning flame for that "dream", current circumstances may hinder us from achieving that. While doing the things we love, we also have to make sure that our basic necessities are met. And that is the reason why most of us can't do what we love. We are tied up with our current source of living. As an employee of a food company, I really need to go the office during the weekdays, and going there means that I have to stay there for the whole day.
I really love the volunteering work. And since I was raised in a family that always makes the volunteering work as their priority, I, too, want to be like them. I want to go to other places where there is a great need of volunteers who will teach people with good values and morals. It is voluntary, so volunteers aren't funded. Instead, they do the funding themselves. This is the reason why I want to change my career from a full time company employee, who needs to go to the office everyday to work whole day, to become a freelancer. In doing this, I am the one controlling my time and I can even do the things I really want to pursue.
I really want to give my best in helping other people. Like teaching them Bible principles that will help them and their family to live a better and a happier life. As a Research Specialist, I can now control my time I will be spending with my work. With freelancing, I will have the time I need to do the things I love doing. I am thankful for the chance that I was able to gain insights on how to be a freelancer. This will help me and my future clients live a better and more comfortable life.
