Backyard breeders arnt that bad either. Their cheaper (nothing wrong with "pet stock" just pay attention to the conditions they parents are in, ask questions look at the babies, make sure their not inbred things like that). More exotic animals though look for a proper breeder
Nah, backyard breeders are 100% shitty places to get pets.

Could be a lack of oxygen or stress? Make sure shes not being harrassed
theres lots of plants in the tank and the filter creates a lot of surface movement, so if its an oxygen problem, i have no idea what the cause would be.
there is a male in the tank that usually follows her around a lot and he pokes at her sometimes, but she usually tolerates him! it even seems like she likes the attention at times... but its never been a problem before, & right now hes not even trying to get near her.
the water is a little bit cloudy but i cant tell if its just the lighting/residue from vacuuming the gravel? theres also some kind of weird algae on the glass... i just dont know what could have caused this
