Trump’s idiotic trade war is in some ways actually strengthening China’s hand, by encouraging more open trade with other victims of Trump’s tariff bullying. The US is losing allies all over the globe. It is distinctly possible that we need China more than China needs us. The one that will be particularly painful to us is their rare earth embargo.

Once again, Trump shoots America in the foot.
