What Makes the Heart Grow Fonder
@resonancerequiem
Morgan did a lot of work for her father when she didn’t have missions with the DWMA. She was a pretty well known monster hunter and typically took contacts for a bit of extra spending money. It usually wasn’t anything too bad, but it would keep her out of the city for a few days, no longer than two weeks. She never brought Soul with her, given the danger, so the days were quite lonely. She missed her weapon when she was gone.
Her next assignment was a simple, but urgent one. A pack of empousi were terrorising a small town and she needed to take them down before anymore blood was shed. The explanation given to Soul was very brief, spoken in rushed words as she strapped her sword to her side and gave him a hug goodbye. But that lack of explanation would be her downfall.
The empousi weren’t alone, they served a necromancer that could use soul protect. Morgan was overwhelmed before she could even get the upper hand. She was beaten, broken, and thrown into a bright room in the basement of an abandoned warehouse. They didn’t want to kill her, oh no, that would have been merciful. Instead she was tortured into teaching the witch more powerful spells and incantations. She was quite the slow leaner, which drew the process out for months. Morgan had tried to escape once, but didn’t get far. With no weapon and the entire warehouse crawling with empousi she stood no chance.
Eventually Morgan was left with no choice but to death seed herself. After muttering a soft prayer to her father she collapsed into a deep sleep on the cell floor. Small sprouts grew around her, connecting her to the Underworld in a last stich effort to survive. What she didn’t know, was that was the key to her rescue.
Hades could tell power was being sapped from the Underworld in a small amount somewhere in rural South Dakota. He knew that must have been his daughter. He contacted Death and told him the coordinates, which were then passed on to the younger shinigami and her weapon Soul. Their mission was clear: get Morgan and get out. This wasn’t an attack on the empousi or the witch, it was a rescue. They were to be held off until Morgan was secured. With how an alarm blared as they got close, it was obvious they were in for a fight.

Maka gave him a curious look with a raised eyebrow. The kid didn’t appear to have an ego at first glance, but the words that came out of his mouth were arrogant and, admittedly, cool.
Looking at his clothes, she suddenly felt like the giant nerd everyone claimed her to be. Her cardigan, dress shirt, and tie felt far too stiff to be comfortable and Maka wished that she could get away with the natural confidence that Soul exuded. Instead, she was stuck with her bookworm look.
“Lucky you,” She grumbled half-heartedly, self-consciously fiddling with the strap on her book bag. “Soul? That’s a great name for a scythe. Seen anyone you want as a meister yet?”

“FIGHT ME IN THE PIT, SOUL.”
@resonancerequiem // @shinigamikiddo | closed starter of angst hell
A flurry of wild and powerful emotions bubbles beneath Asura’s cold face, as walks up to Soul with tension in his steps, his fist clenched tight and his wrists twitching every few moments. Anger, while he does feel that, isn’t the only descriptor for his current mood, he seethes with agitation and insecurity. Sick feeling in his stomach lingers, his worry and fear for his brother’s wellbeing settling in.
He’d witnessed the whole blow out, the whole mess of a conversation, how it tore at Asura to see Kid in such a state, how guilty, and yet, angry, he feels about the situation.
“Come with me,” he says, his voice chipped and cold, his bleak golden eyes staring Soul down. It isn’t clear on what is in those eyes… disdain? Anger? Sadness? Whatever it is, it’s clear that Asura is not in the best of moods.
“You are going to help me find Kid,” he sternly orders, no stutters, unsurety nor hesitation in his icily blank voice, “I cannot track him down with my Soul Perception, for that his soul is too large to pinpoint his location.”

    “ROUND TWO BITCH--!!!” best believe, Scythe boy, there was and are more water bottles where that came from. The STAR was one hydrated boy and had plenty of ammo.
