[Day 1: Respecting Greatness of #8 and #24] To my friends here in Instagram, I want to apologize in advance for the next 8 days. Please allow this fan, to be sentimental to a person that made me a #LAKER fan. I might not be your hardcore fan; I just appreciate greatness. Growing up back in the Philippines where Basketball is a prominent sport (or should I say my environment revolves on PBA (Philippine Basketball Association)), I got a little bit curious on it. We don’t have colored TV back then nor Cable. And back then we could only watch NBA on replays. The early - mid 90’s (or the year I got aware about basketball), it was all about Michael Jordan and how everyone loved Chicago Bulls. Everyone was a fan. I didn’t even know that there was a highschooler drafted to the NBA, until I saw a replay of the 1999-2000 NBA championship Game 6. Lakers vs Pacers. #SHAQ was the MVP but what piqued my interest was the 21 yr old guy who did the last 4 Free Throws. I was amazed! I was like, so this was the highschooler that was drafted back 96. From then on, in school, I would crumple a paper that I wont use and try throw it on the trash can and say “Kobe!” and I’ll do it when there no attentive classmates around :) Like other kids in high school, I wanted to play basketball with my friends, but my Asthmatic Body wont allow it plus, I don’t have the athletic skills like my friends, but never the less, I begone to idolized that NBA Player. Fast forward January 04, 2015, Staples Center. Thanks to my friends Jean, Ralph and Nadia, I got the chance to watch a @lakers Game! And the funny thing here is, its Lakers vs Pacers where Kobe did that hook shot to make it an 87-88 win for the Lakers and the crowd went wild and I lost my voice LOL! This is the closest photo that I can have of @kobebryant . I cannot believe that I would be able to watch a Lakers game live! From being amazed in 2000 to losing my voice at 2015. God I am thankful for this opportunity. Yesterday was a tragedy, but today and the next day, we remember their lives and a legend. #RespectGreatness #MambaForever #TributeTo8and24 https://www.instagram.com/p/B72VSTxH4RvJobQ0i25v80OKLO19q36rwRQNe00/?igshid=1ald07kxn4rj8
