here’s my rant... trigger warning: sexual harassment?? so basically, for the past seven years i’ve been listening to one direction and saying to everybody “they’re so good, you should listen to them” but everybody is like “ew no they’re a boy band, i hate boy bands. they’re all the same” but one direction was different because they all had real talent and still do and they wouldn’t have special dances or dress the same or anything, they were just normal boys who sang together. but nobody gave them a chance because they were a boy band. now it’s “popular” to love harry styles and everybody is listening to him now and realizing that he has real talent (same with the other boys but let’s focus on harry) but everybody is just now realizing how talented he is. i feel like if they rejected him and his music when he was young, they have no right to say they’ve “loved him forever”. anyways, solo harry stans are never larry shippers because they don’t know any better. i’m not saying that all fans have to be larry shippers, nor am i saying that all solo harry stans are like this, but sadly, all the ones that i have encountered are. and here is where the story begins. yesterday and harry’s show at the hollywood bowl, he was singing kiwi. and when he sings kiwi he gets very hype and wants the crowd to get hype as well, so during the musical bridge of the song, he was jumping around and then he got on his knees in front of the crowd and started to shake his arms and get everybody hyped up. but then, one girl reaches forward and grabs his dick, and you can tell that he is surprised by his face in the video. he pushed the girl’s hand away and he jumped up and went to another side of the stage and refused to go back to that general area where the girl was for the rest of the show. it’s awful! one girl disrespected his privacy and personal space and she ruined it for everybody around her. harry makes me (and so many others) feel safe, so why can’t we make him feel safe too? it makes me mad that she felt like she had the right to do that. and the worst part is that nobody is acknowledging it. if it was a woman singer and some guy touched her tits, the entire internet would be in flames and he would face sexual harassment charges but nobody is doing anything because harry is a male performer. i can already predict what the internet will say about it. they’re either say “she didn’t mean to touch him like that” and if she didn’t really mean to, genuinely, she would have moved her hand right away and apologized. or people will say “it was the angle” but there are videos from all sides, including one that the girl herself took. and finally people will say “he brought it on himself by kneeling like that” because the internet is fucked up like that and tends to blame things like this on the victim rather than the perpetrator.
