May I ask why you’re choosing to rewrite the story instead of update it when it hasn’t been updated in over 2 years? Please don’t think I mean this rudely. Im just curious as a long time fan & reader. Im a straight forward, blunt person & that does not come off well in text if you can’t see or hear me to know I’m not trying to be disrespectful or rude. Just trying to understand and out of pure curiosity. Thank you! Wonderful story!
a) I like to crosspost my fics to Tumblr, and never got around to completing a crosspost with wgdots. I'm simply doing that and revising as I go (which I always do when I crosspost). It’s not a rewrite in any meaningful sense.
b) Crossposting takes vastly less effort than updating anything, particularly a fic as involved as wgdots. It’s not a matter of choosing between equal possibilities. Updating wgdots is not on the cards at the moment, but crossposting is manageable.
c) I’ve been working for almost two years on a different longfic in a different fandom that I’d really like to get finished, and I have limited time/energy. The other fic is a lot easier to write than wgdots and is in my main fandom, so it has priority.
d) It’s been two years and the fic is well over 100k. Before I even think about updating, I need to refresh my memory. It works better to do that gradually than all at once, and crossposting necessarily involves re-reading.

Thank you very much! The 46 chapters I’ve written so far have been posted at AO3 for a few years, but I wanted a crossposted version without the various glitches of the original, so they’ll be a little different.
