Zomato and McDonald’s have been collectively fined Rs 1 lakh by the District Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum Jodhpur-II for delivering non-vegetarian food item in place of vegetarian Vegetarian food item.
The consumer had placed the order from Mc Donald through Zomato for Vegetarian burger but to his surprise he was delivered non-vegetarian burger by Zomato.
Despite bringing the fact in the knowledge no proper action was taken by the both and the matter escalated and complaint was filed before District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission Jodhpur-II.
The forum held both Zomato and McDonald’s accountable for the error and directed them to compensate the complainant with a sum of Rs 1 lakh. Additionally, Rs. 5000/- was also directed to be paid as litigation cost.
