Restless-

These nights are waves tossing me in sheets

Im drowning in blankets begging for sleep

Hoping the movies in my mind stop playing on repeat

Starving for rest i feel the sense of defeat

My mind is running this hampster wheel

Hoping for an hour a minute to steal

I shut my eyes hoping to set me adrift

Insomnias monsterous hands bring me its gift

So i lay here stirring praying for he

The sandman, the bringer of dreams

Please dear god before i let out a scream

Lull me to sleep a soothing voice to sing

A lullaby softly in my ears to ring

The sounds of never ending peace

A state of mind a sense of release

Should i let this mattress swollow me up

Maybe ill walk around fill up my cup

Warm milk or camomile tea should do the trick

Let the soft cushions help my body stick

Get in position get ready for sleep

But to no avail do i find the reprieve

So i lay here tossing feeling deceived

Put on some sleep noise to aid with my slumber

Now im just rolling to the sound of thunder

A storm is brewing in my sleepless night

For something inside me is trying to fight

The thought of dozing off or even a nap

If i dont get some rest i swear i might snap

Hypnos im praying for us to unite

Praying to you to grant me a sleep filled goodnight.
