Enjoyed this bowl of israeli style chicken soup today (thanks for the hawaij, @solstamar + @hannah.slip 💚). And remembered to s l o w d o w n. And began to think about relection... In Chinese Medicine, Autumn is the season for slowing down. We are naturally tuned into reflection, acknowledgement, and releasing while we are in the Metal element (Autumn). For me, it’s become a natural practice- since we first learned about Autumn and their gifts in acupuncture school, they have woven themselves into my life. * And let me tell you about reflection: what I know is that if we don’t make the time for it, it will MAKE us make time. How does that look? Unexplained anxiety, bouts of anger, bursts of tears coming seemingly from nowhere, muscle tension, tightness, aches and pains. Do you resonate? When we don’t allow our spirit time to process the things we ingest day to day, the energy makes itself known by expressing itself SOMEhow. * We weren’t meant to skip time to reflect. Never has humanity been so busy, so inundated, so full, so devoid of reflection. And never have we needed reflection more. * Before my dear daughter came here to earth, I had sooooo much quiet time. I relished in quiet, in reflection, in s i l e n c e. Now, finding it is hard, and I find that I get sucked up in the busy energetic so easily (aka I have a moment to drive quietly but I blast music when really I need silence, etc). So, I am consciously trying to pay more attention to that and CHOOSE silence when I have the opportunity to. My nervous system likes it. What does your nervous system like? Not surprising that I read this nugget right afterwards from @daniellelaporte.
