My fav Retail brands/products
This post will be about my top 5 Retail brands/products with a little analysis of their Visual Identity
TONYMOLY (Skincare brand)
Tonymoly is a Korean skincare brand which I love because of its availability in the UK, the way it works for my skin and of course the cute packaging. It is very popular among Koreans and non-Koreans familiar with Korean skincare brands.
Tonymoly present themselves as fun & functional, which is evident on their website as it is with their packaging. The website’s layout is simple. It’s easy to navigate and includes playful elements. The products they sell are either Food or Animal themed which means their packaging varies from a handcream tube looking like a Banana to a pore minimiser looking like an Egg. This is a fun way of standing out from other Skincare brands. Tonymoly products aren’t the ones you would put away in the bathroom cupboard to hide when friends are around. You’d rather put it on the shelf because the products look like decration! As for advertising campaigns they used to use Kpop idols to promote their products to their target audience by doing shoots with their products. This is a good way as kpop fans are known to sell out whatever their favourite idol is wearing/using.

LUSH (Cosmetics brand)
I love Lush because their products are 100% Vegetarian, they fight animal testing, are cruelty free and make handmade, fresh cosmetics.
Lush is a shop most people know because there is no way one can walk past without smelling it. The first thing I think of when I hear someone mentioning Lush is the smell of the fresh skincare as it fills the shop and the outside of it as well! Lush’s packaging is made of recycled paper/cardboard. It comes in different forms like small bags, colourful scarfs or giftwrappers from recycled paper. It’s like getting a gift from a friend. On their website they highlight their products and use a combination of products, reviws and articles about animal welfare as they don’t want to miss out the opportunity of spreading the word about it. The website is a lot to take in at first but the clear structure makes it easy to understand. Lush gives me a really personal vibe which starts off with the packaging, the way their products are made and of course the Handrendered marker typeface they use.

MISSGUIDED (Womenswear brand)
The reason I love Missguided is for its trendy and fashionable clothes and the fair price they offer them at. The quality also plays a huge role.
Missgudied emphasise new ranges on their website with bold text and flashy picturesof them. They use pop culture to attract their target audience by inlcuding memes, slang and abbreviations (idk, tbh) , visually pleasing ‘aesthetic’ pictures and informal speech. For their ad campaigns they use Instagram models or people with a large following on Instagram. These people get involved in so called affiliate programmes which means the more people they get to use their link or code to buy from Missguided, the more free clothes the Promoter gets. This us a clever way as Instagram famous people can easily have a following from 2000 to more than 2 Million.

Wonderland. (Independent Magazine)
Wonderland is an independent magazine with a combination of fashion, music, film and art talented people. It is around 7 pounds for one issue but it is worth the price as it is a very thick, informative and inspiring piece of material.
Wonderland has really inspiring editorials of the most wanted photographers and creative directors which is one of the best ways for me to keep my creative bank full. Their fashion shoot campaigns are playful but high-end. The art direction is very out the box in my terms, which opens my mind. Their website is really straigghtforward and centered which also includes some motion. It is a mix of still shots from their magazines articles and a minimum of videos.
