5 years ago, after doing a personal development course, for which a part of the course was to “create a social project which you felt very passionate about”.
At the time I had just got into green smoothies. This is early 2010s where health was big thing, and mainly through encouragement of my then girlfriend, now life
The idea at the time, as in my own words was to “ Encourage a structure for other young individuals who have wanted to create such a course but perhaps been too scared/not sure to create their own project after being inspired by what’s possible and put their own mark on the project” . This is a various conclusion of similar projects, and it is seen in all aspects of altruism for people to give back and work on projects and people that add value and mean things to them. In my case it was the identity of being Taiwanese Australian and the challenges of growing up and challenging my parents healthy choices compared to what was marketed for kids and teenagers at the time that were less healthy.
The missions statement was to achieve the following :-
Enrol parents within the same community (the sunday school) to show enough need and interest in future projects 2. **Parents from PTA getting involved and setting up a subcommittee to support events with volunteers 3. Generate positive interest and response from children and interest and support from event one from Green Smoothie Day BY 20 oct a second young event will be created and 50 students will attend a community event with the students which a basketball workshop will be held and taught by ex alumni basketball-era of the community share an idea for a community project with a positive purpose to health, happiness, fun and love key themes to share in the community event. 4. People subscribing to the community and getting involved and giving back. 5. People willing to put their time and resource into this community (other parents, young adults) and spending their time and resources helping young ones out. Parents acceptance and other people getting involved and developing such projects.
This was all in the background of Linsanity and wanting give back to the community and was fairly ambitious and definitely good to step back into the school grounds and connect with people and definitely made the green smoothie journey memorable and fun and realise when you want to make a project really happen, its not that hard.
