Retro 60's swimwear inspired by the costumes in 'Teen Beach'

From designing custom fabric, to sourcing vintage patterns, and deceivingly complex construction of simple-looking garments made from knits and lycras, this project was definitely a challenge!

Brown Ensemble: A soft knit was used for the brown top as well as white sport knit for the collar.  Handmade piping detailing adorns the sleeves and front pocket.  The swim shorts are made from Sport Lycra and include functional side pockets, front zipper closure and back pocket detailing.

Striped Ensemble: Lightweight cotton twill was used for the jacket, which zips up in the front and includes french seams on the inside. Sport Lycra was used for the swim shorts. and include a zipper closure and pocket detailing.  Both swim shorts are also lined in white swimwear lining.

All fabrics were created by myself and printed via Spoonflower, where they are for sale!
