Ships pt. 3

Some of my favorite ships are on this page. The two big black ones to be exact. The one in the bottom right corner started off with the idea of a ship that had a big yawning mouth that look like it would inhale any ship in it’s way. From there the ship morphed into this big shark looking atom bomb soaring through space. Which I wish i had a model of now that I think about it. The ship directly above it was the idea of taking a flash gordon ship, turning it into a big battle cruiser, and turning it into a pirate ship by painting big sections of it black. I think when I first started sketching it I started off with a jack kirby helmet (you can still see it because of the fins in the back) and then just went to town improvising.

I really liked this ship drawing exercise and should do it again sometime.
