YouTuber RetroManCave recently uploaded a Q&A they hosted with legendary game composer Tim Follin, who recently attended the Blackpool Play Expo. Follin hasn’t given a lot of interviews, so this should be of interest to folks who like his music and want to learn more about the man and his career.

RetroManCave did an interesting video on the SB-926, a Chinese Famiclone made by Subor that was endorsed by Jackie Chan and was marketed as a “learning machine.” This was mainly because of the Chinese government’s disapproval of game consoles (which included an outright ban that lasted about 15 years). It came bundled with some rudimentary educational software, but it was still fundamentally a Famiclone, and can play any Famicom game.

I’ve always loved the design of Haynes manuals and I can vividly remember my Dad’s collection of them for all the cars he’d owned whilst growing up. As I began to write this post I discover that John Harold Haynes who created the manuals recently passed away. It seems only fitting that I’ve just purchased the Cobra Mark III Haynes style poster from the Retro Man Cave Esty store.

I still find it uplifting the know that individual can setup as a creators on YouTube or Esty and be rewarded for doing something that they enjoy. Every technology can be used for either good or evil, but overall computers linked by the internet have improved communication and trade, making life better.
