Hi! This is Retro. And this other thing right here is a mini comic I made a week or so ago. I made this as a test to start a line of full length monthly BFDI Comics. It took about 11 hours to make from start to finish (as ridiculous as it sounds), but I'm super proud of it! Leave your thoughts about it if you can; and hopefully it'll help me out in the future once I get to making longer comics. See y'all!

I wasn't sure what to make of this prompt. This was the one idea I ended up having.

Talking Over Hot Cocoa (Art Fight 2025)

Alright, welcome back folks. Moving swiftly on from my previous post, here's one that I made for @deputiized !

I'm a fan of Shiver's design, and I'm also a Bobette simp enjoyer, so this is was an absolute treat to make. I also felt like Shiver wasn't getting that many attacks, so I bring them justice (AND IT SEEMED TO WORK BECAUSE SHE'S BEEN GETTING FREQUENT ATTACKS AFTERWARDS YAYY).

ahem. anyway;

> This piece took 4 hours and 4 minutes to finish.

> The original idea I had for the piece was having Shiver talking to Finn, as her toon info states that they're cousins (and aussies). However, I changed my mind after reading more into the info and seeing she was shipped with Bobette. I'll come to the Finn idea later, though!

My Art Fight Character Highlights! (...of 2025)

Hello everyone! As promised in my last post, I'm here to share the character references I've made for Art Fight! Or at least the one's I managed to make on time. As I'll elaborate in my later posts, I have a hard time managing some things. Anyway, most of the info on each character is already showcased on the references, but I'll obviously provide notes along the way!

> These six character are from an object show project I've working on for a while, but I'd like to keep details fairly vague until I have more stuff ready for it. Just know that it's going to be called Lights Camera Stardom.

> As you could notice, all these cards (even the ones coming up in just a second) include three items in the info part of the sheet. These were a bit of a last-minute idea I had when first designing these cards. I thought it would be cool to have items that, in some way, represent or tie back to the character; along with a VHS movie tape (that's significant to the character in some way within their lore).

> As a bit of unimportant trivia, Pineapple Backpack was the first character to have their card made! (Which ended up being the hardest one to draw, haha).

> Lastly, I'd like to give a shout out to @meteorshowerzz , who came up with Sodie's last name (and provided feedback on the sheet designs, just like @rerising-moon !)

> These two other characters, unlike the previous 6, are completely separate (...for now). They don't necessarily have a universe or project attached to them. They also lost the VHS tapes in their info box, as those were exclusive to the LCS universe characters.

> For some trivia, the idea of Nesquik Carton came to me at a Burger King, where I ended up ordering a breakfast combo that included a carton of nesquik.

> I. got very little trivia on Yogurt Pot, sorry folks-

Lastly there's the characters I didn't give much attention to: my SMG4 oc's. They're part of a shared fan-au I have with my close friends. Due scheduling, I wasn't able to give them proper reference sheets (except for Gamething's, who I did a while ago!). I'll definitely come back to them later on but this is all they got for now. Most of their lore can be found on their Art Fight page right here.

I think I'll leave the trivia for these characters for a later blog, as I got a ton of things to say about them!

With that, this concludes this blog. I'm really happy my oc's were so well received on Art Fight, and I hope everyone on here enjoys them just as much :D

SMK4 MOVIE: Good Grief (Art Fight 2025)

Hello folks. Today, on RetroRubix, we got a big one. My first mass attack (but probably not my last): The Good Grief poster; featuring the mayority of the Kevin Alliance!

"For when the games end, only one side will have the last word."

As you can see, I've included a ton more characters than my previous attacks. SEVEN CHARACTERS, in fact. So, before I go over everything I got to say about this piece, I shall give a list on who's on here, and their rightful owners. Please check out their content if possible!

OKAAYY SOOO. I got a handful of things to say about this one. Prepare for a massive wall of text up ahead :

> This piece took 15 hours and 35 minutes to finish, in the span of 2 days, making it my longest piece so far.

> To give a bit of more context around this attack, this is a poster for a personal SMG4 AU (nicknamed SMK4) that was made by the Kevin Alliance (The People colored in pink in the character list above). Moon, who's a big fan of Object Cringe, wanted to make an arc within our AU based around the characters of Good and Bad. A while ago, she made a mini poster for it, which I used as a base for this piece.

> The plot of the arc revolves around Good and Bad arriving to the SMG4 world, choosing our SMK4 characters to play "a game". As it turns out, though, these beings were actually testing the SMG4 world's morality through the games; and they've determined it's not worth keeping around! Now our heroes race to change Good and Bad's opinion quickly before they can obliterate their world!

> Besides the original poster Moon designed, I mainly went off the official SMG4 posters for inspiration with the style. Primarily the Revelations Arc poster (which is one of my favorite arcs from SMG4, aside of Genesis). You can see it with the way I shaded and rendered the characters and background.

> Speaking of the shading, one of the main things that took me a long time to work on was the shading on each character. This was a very experimental piece to make due to that, as I was using various tools I've never tried out before. I'm quite proud of the shading in this one; it was a hassle, but it looks cool to me.

> In the lore of the arc, Good and Bad decide to put an indestructible dome around the main SMK4 world after deciding they want to annihilate it, that way they'd prevent anyone inside from escaping. Moon included this detail in her original poster, I just liked the idea and translated it over to mine. I did want to elaborate on the context of it, so that's that-

>Okay, last things: The yellow logo on the bottom that serves as the SMK4 was designed by Randomfan. Months ago, I asked him if he could make a logo of our AU so I could use it in our artwork and sillies. He ended up making it, as seen here bellow, and we've used it ever since. Shout out to him obviously :D

>Finally, I made an alt version of the poster that doesn't feature the logos and stuff. This is just an extra for y'all who clicked on this blog.

Despite the troubles, with me struggling with the shading and anatomy and whatnot, I'm happy that the Kevins enjoyed the final result. I kinda owed this piece to them, for being my support family for a while. Despite us not always like the content, SMG4 means alot to us; and I thought this would've been a good piece to celebrate that. Take it as a thanks for everything :)

"You Got New Emails!" (Art Fight 2025)

Hello folks! Today, I got a new job as a Mailman. I'm suppose to deliver a pipe bomb, in the form of another Art Fight Attack! This is for the user jasperwonder ! Make sure to give their AF profile a visit!

"He's always at your service, emails at hand every morning (He earns that Employee Of The Month title for a reason!)"

Here we have the best virtual-mailman around: Mr. Antiphish!

So uh. i have a weak spot for webcore things. and sentient programs. and fish people (I'm an Axol Simp).

Moving past that, let's talk about the tech:

> This piece took 3 hours and 51 minutes to finish.

> Uh. Not too much to comment on this one, as it was very straightforward. BUT I do still have a few things. You can see I tried to give the window idea from my Tomorrow attack another shot; this time, putting a bit more attention on the accuracy of the 90's computer pop-up.

> Originally, I wanted to do this with linework. However, I changed my mind as I was sketching the attack because I thought making it lineless (and "paper-cut" like) would just look way better. In the end, yeah. It looks very clean.

> And as an extra, the final piece I did has a small pixel filter over the inside of the window to make it realistically bit crushed (like most old computer thing's). I saved the original picture before the effects, so you guys can take a look at it! the difference ain't much but hey, it's there. HORRAY FOR EXCLUSIVE CONTENT!

Like I've mentioned in my original post on AF for this peep, this was satisfying to draw! I like the character and messing around with a retro style was lovely. That concludes this post; thanks for sticking around.
