#RETROVEMBER2025: 1.2 Megalosaurus (1854)

Large carnivorous reptiles from parts of Europe. They have been known to reach ~40ft (12m) in length making them one of the largest land predators. Megalosaurs are revered for their great strength on which they use to hunt Iguanodon.

In recent times, Megalosaurs have been a frequent nuisance and sometimes hunters of man. The reduction of Iguanodon certainly contributed to their more aggressive behavior as of late. Without a main prey source, they now encroach on our space.

With populations steadily dwindling, it's only a matter of time until they join the ranks of the extinct.

#RETROVEMBER2025: 4. Spinosaurus (1910)

Very large predatory dinosaurs from Africa. They get about over ~12m long making them a size contender for predatory dinos. There's quite a bit of variation between individuals when it comes to sail patterns. Males can be distinguished by the orange splotch beneath their eyes and brighter blue coloration.

Spinosaurs can be seen competing for riverbank access. Fighting rarely occurs because of the potential risks, so their solution is to size up one another. Bigger and more fit individuals usually win this outcome.

#RETROVEMBER2025: 6. Dunkleosteus (2000s)

Large, slow-moving, armored fish with a notoriously strong bite. They often lurk in & around underwater wrecks ambushing anything it deems worthy to eat. They seem to favor metallic structures for an unknown reason granting them the title of Scrap Iron Sharks (though they aren't actually sharks). Take caution when diving near a wreckage!

#RETROVEMBER2025: 5. Magdeburg Unicorn

The discovery of Bipedal Rhinos was an unexpected surprise. Populations of these rhinos seem to be scarce as no other records of their existence have been found until a museum in Magdeburg, Germany displayed a skeleton. Expeditions into arctic tundras to find more proved a fruitless endeavor. Many questions are left unanswered as to this beast's nature.

#RETROVEMBER2025: 1.1 Iguanodon (1854)

Gargantuan herbivorous reptiles from parts of Europe. They have been known to reach 60ft (20m) in length with older individuals perhaps growing larger. An old wives' tale states that the body is big enough to host of banquet of 20 people inside it.

Iguanodon live in family groups of cows and calves while bulls roam for territory on their own. Caution is needed when encountering a bull, as it will defend its territory aggressively.

The Megalosaurus is the primary predator of Iguanodon, but even it needs to act carefully when hunting these beasts.

Iguanodon have been overhunted in the past years due to their horns and shield scales being valuable for alternative medicine and as trophies. It won't be long until they face extinction.

#RETROVEMBER2025: 2. Deinonychus (1969)

Agile predators from North American badlands. They grow to be about the size of the average wolf if not a little larger. There's little information on any kind of social structure, but hearsay says these animals hunt with shocking intelligence using numbers and various strategies unlike other dinosaurs.

Colloquially called Hookclaws by the locals, these dinosaurs run down their prey to exhaustion before pouncing. Using all their limbs as weapons, they slash and tear to create openings to eat their bounty alive. Many have stated this animal being their favorite dinosaur.

#RETROVEMBER2025: 3. Agathaumas sphenocerus

A large ceratopsid dinosaur which may be related to Triceratops. This dinosaur is heavily armored, much more than its relatives. This must be a result of its more sluggish nature as it would rather stand its ground than flee from danger. Size varies from individuals, but some grow to be larger than Triceratops.

You may find these wondrous beasts in the forests they call home though they're not as numerous as they were in the past. Overhunting has been a factor, but habitat loss is the prominent threat they face.

#RETROVEMBER2025: 7. Brontosaurus (1897)

Enormous dinosaurs from North America. They used to be more numerous in the past, but expanding infrastructure has reduced their habitat. Brontosaurs can be found in forests with large sources of water nearby & marshes. Large bodies of water allow them to cool off in the intensifying heat (which is getting hotter each passing year).

Brontosaurs are capable of consuming vast amounts of vegetation which makes their habitat issue even more precarious. Sometimes one finds itself too close to humans and must be relocated. They aren't known to be cooperative with many injuries consisting of tail lashes & blunt force trauma.
