Next Return LDD is probably going to be revealed next week in the "Mezco Toy Fair"; time to see if they're still churning out Series 2 cast and going straight down the line of original releases for the foreseeable future, or if they're going to give us the most popular characters sooner. With LDD's past depiction problems, I'd want to jump on the greatest hits sooner than later, since there are several I wouldn't try remaking in 2026 and it'd take like 20 years to get to Frozen Charlotte with this slow schedule.
also, on the topic of return dolls, part of me wonders and even hopes that maybe ldd will raceswap kitty or deadbra? ldd has such an overwhelmingly white lineup, i don't think it would be bad if they changed it up for these new versions of the characters sometimes
It would be nice to see more diversity from LDD, but I would advise against getting your hopes up. Maybe things have changed, but the track record isn't at all promising.
i've been thinking about the return ldd line, and like, if they continue to do series 2 of ldd since they've already done lou sapphire, i wonder if schooltime sadie would end up being a fully separate doll or an add on fashion pack for the already existing return sadie?
I'd personally welcome a full doll of Schooltime Sadie, just to see the Return character with the classic center part and the updated head construction. I'd just hope one of her faces didn't have the forehead scar and could be used to create a build of Series 1 Sadie with the first Return doll's outfit. Schooltime Sadie could also be treated as a limited-run "variant" like Bunny of Doom was for Return Eggzorcist.
If you like both horror dolls and Easter, you can read my detailed November 2024 review of Living Dead Dolls' Return and Series 1 editions of Eggzorcist here! Mezco didn't get her out at the appropriate seasonal time, but if you haven't seen the review yet, now, on Easter, is the perfect moment!
Assorted photos with Return of the Living Dead Dolls Damien and his Series 1 counterpart. Tumblr for the love of god do not mark this with a community label-
These two dolls are spooky horror derived from a movie about demons but are not graphic or gory. Read my very detailed review and larger photoshoot with the dolls in my blog post here.
Photos with Return of the Living Dead Dolls Sin and Series 1 Sin! Read their review in this post here!
* 1 less hand piece than Sin, but all the same shapes
* Exact same faceplate sculpts as Sin
* Reused pitchfork and flame crown
* No extra clothing pieces
* Printed paper contracts which are cool but not at all impressive
* Worst accessories of the Return line, no cane like his original doll
...
* $10 more than the other Return dolls
I think Mezco is breaking my streak for me.
