Boo! Mezco One:12 Ghostface. I was so eager for a Mezco scale Ghostface I made a custom that has since been cannibalized for other projects. In some ways, I was actually hoping to avoid this one. My focus had mostly shifted back to NECA's 7 inch scale horror by the time they revealed this, but I'm just a sucker.
This figure is definitely better than its NECA counterparts, but is it 3x better? Ehhhh. I'm a 1/12 collector at the end of the day, that's my preference. So I'm obviously biased towards the smaller scale on this one. The robe is definitely better, but suffers from its own issues such as being a bit too baggy imo. The arms and shoulders can get swallowed by the surrounding cloth. Might be worth looking into a belt. I will say, I do love that the arm tassels have wires that is such a cool touch.
Mine also broke at the neck! Fun! Yeah, I was trying to swap heads and the barbell joint snapped while trying to pop one on. I assume this is due to the cold weather we've been experiencing lately making the joints extra firm. Not helped by how much is going on at the collar. Between the hood and the turtleneck GF is wearing beneath, there is a lot going on there. I did find a replacement right quick, but it was annoying.
The accessories are good, but derivative. I find it interesting they took so much from the first NECA Ultimate wholesale. All four heads, the kitchen knife, and even the scythe come directly from that. Maybe they're all derived from some kind of Funworld endorsed style guide.
The final accessories are new and totally killer at least. The bowl of popcorn, popcorn holding hand, and TV remote are so much fun I can't help but applaud them. Great inclusions!
Whether this figure is worth it or not is gonna heavily vary. For some, the value just isn't gonna be there for a design this simple. For me, I'm having fun with it at least. I'm happy to have this. I think I have all the slashers I'd want from Mezco, buuuut they could still get me to double dip if they ever made a Zombie Jason (Part 6 or Part 8 pls).
