RFR @ NXNE !!!

That’s right folks, RFR is going to be making our first NXNE performance, this Wednesday night at the Bovine Sex Club. The night is loaded with awesome acts. We’re going to be hitting the stage at 2600hrs! That’s right, it’s 4am, aka 2800hrs last call all week, all over town for NXNE!!!

Weds May 23 @ Cadillac Lounge

RFR has never played the Cadillac Lounge before, and now, with the fate of this iconic Toronto venue sealed, and its doors soon to close, we thought we’d sneak in there for one rocking show. 

In the spirit of the Cadillac, we’re bringing up an old school Toronto icon, Subway Elvis, to the stage. This man has lived the rock and roll life. He’s been on stages with some of the greatest rock and rollers of all time . He’s been up, he’s been down, and now, he’s going to do a few tunes with RFR.

Come down and have a blast before the Cadillac closes its doors.

We Rocked 2017! 2018, We’re Still Hungry!

Hello to you, fellow survivors of 2017!

We’d just like to take a moment to congratulate you on your successful and continuing survival. It was a tough one for us here at RFR. We fought hard as both a band and as individuals to overcome personal daemons, external adversaries, and still continue to make music through it all. We did our best to put ourselves out there and we can proudly stand behind every performance we put on in 2017 without fear of refunds. We fucking rocked in 2017. From our last, sickness plagued, last minute made solo show at Cherry Cola’s days before Christmas, to our full tilt, all or nothing show at the Phoenix Concert Theatre this past June, our largest to date, we owned every stage we stepped on this past year. We overcame every difficulty put in our paths. Our shows not only went on, they all rocked. We nailed them all.

We take pride in everything we do here. “Lift You Up” is a perfect example of that. If you can look any of us in the eye and say that “Lift You Up” isn’t worth pittance we ask for it, then we’ll return the pittance. As of yet, we haven’t a pittance returned. 

Guess what we plan to do in 2018? That’s right. It’s going to be no different from any other year since we birthed RFR less than 5 years ago. Preproduction has begun on “Crazy/Love”, a plot driven, theatrical, double album conceived and written during Drew’s descent into madness this past November. You may have to hold out a bit before seeing us hit the stage again, you know, since we’re working on our most ambitious creative project to date, but when you do, you can be sure, we’re going to blow your minds with boundless energy, lightning skill, and heart, so much heart.

We’re back!

That’s right. After nailing it in the studio, we’re ready to retake the stage. We’ve been itching to lose our shit and blow some minds. Sure the studio was fun, but nothing beats feeling the heat of the lights and watching your hips groove to our  rhythmic aggression. 

Come out to the Bovine on Friday Oct 28. Our sound has been strengthened by the fiery forge of the studio. We hit the stage at midnight ending a night of kick ass music.

It’s Go Time

This weekend we'll be entering Phase One Studios to record our second EP with Michael Jack. We've been busting ass all summer perfecting our tunes and now, after playing them over and over, and obsessing over every minor detail, it's time to lay them down.

Body Aching, Limbs Heavy With Fruit

A huge thanks to everyone who was a part of the week’s festivities. From the stellar debut of Hot Lips to the jam packed Cherry Cola’s Anniversary Party, last week was mind-blowing. We’re beaten and bruised but it was completely worth it. 

Now, we can hear the studio calling out to us again. We’ve been feeling out our songs one gig at a time and they’re ready to be etched into stone. It’s time to pick up where we left off with our last EP and show just what we’ve learned in the past 2 years. Expect to hear a new RFR EP before the new year.

Indie Week Semi-Finals!

Hey hey hey,

Somehow, we’ve managed to land ourselves a spot in the Indie Week Semi-Finals this Saturday @ The Bovine. We hit the stage at 10:00 sharp and are going to be unleashing the tightest, most energy packed, set we can put together. 

Come out and feed us your good vibes. We’ll then take those vibes, absorb them, process and amplify them before sending them right back at you. You’re going to love it.
