hello my dears ! happy two month anniversary to all of us and thank you to the original members that have been here since day one along with all of our new members that have joined our little journey ! with every day, there seems to be a new challenge for our little corner of the rpc, but we’ve managed to flourish and that is all because of our amazing members ! thank you for not giving up on us as the admin team faces tons of irl issues as well as everything happening here ! we’d also like to say that we hope everyone that’s starting college back up is having a good year ! this is an extremely unique semester but we know that you will do absolutely amazing <3 ultimately, the admin team is working hard to ensure that revelio thrives and that our members have a safe, fun environment ! which is why, as we are all getting new plots and getting new members, please remember to plot and write with as many people as possible ; this is ultimately a place to grow and explore your muse, so please keep that in mind !

hello everyone! we wanted to let everyone know that from 8/14 to 8/21, the main will not be accepting new apps, reserves, or questions through the inbox or submit besides our existing reserves. as many of you know, admin dakota is going through a time-consuming, cross-country move which unfortunately leaves them not much time and energy to handle the main, and admin hayley is currently on hiatus to focus on her health. all activity rules and interest checks will proceed as normally. we can’t wait to return to admining with full force, and we also can’t thank everyone enough for their continued patience during these stressful irl events! much love <3
hello all! we hope that everyone had a relaxing, hydrated week thus far and that we’re all excited for the upcoming weekend! before we get to business, we wanted to take the time to appreciate and love our members! you guys have fearlessly and consciously communicated your questions, comments, and concerns to us since we’ve opened almost four weeks ago! we’re so so thankful for this and we would, truly, not be where we are today without you guys! when the admin team got together over a month ago to begin making this group, neither of us had anticipated the growth that we have had or the pace that it happened at! we both wake up every day to be so grateful that you guys decided to apply and that you guys have, also, been wonderfully gracious with us as we deal with challenges that have been coming our way!
as of late, one concern that we have been receiving often is that our members are becoming overwhelmed with the size and pace of the group. to ensure that protentional applicants are aware of this, we have now added a disclaimer in our rules that alerts them to these concerns. to help solve this issue from the inside, we also published a survey this past thursday about how many muses members were allowed to have. while we, as an admin team, have been discussing this for a few days before thursday, we ultimately wanted to included our members in the decision since everyone joined under the pretense that they could have the chance to be writing up to six muses. of the responses we received, we received an overwhelming yes in wanting to reduce our muse count. however, the results were split between wanting more than three muses and wanting three muses. as an admin team, we decided that we all adjust the allotted number of muses to four muses and that our diversity rule will still remain intact with this change! however, with this amount of muses, we do want to emphasize that it is not mandatory to have four muses and we encourage members to take on the amount of muses that they feel most comfortable with.
we would also like to take this time to address things that we have been noticing. to begin with, the admin team is only human. we, also, have many in real life stressors happening as you do and we do understand that issues can get overwhelming at time. nevertheless, please remember to treat us how you would like to be treated. we will also like to take this time to remind everyone that the discord groupchat is not a place to hash out plot specifics or heavily headcanon out relationships, either. this ends up for an uncomfortable environment for everyone who does not have a muse involved in a conversation. we absolutely adore the excitement, but please take the conversation to the dm’s, especially when the conversation begins to dominate a chat. in addition, we love love seeing everyone brainstorm ideas for new muses, but please make sure that you are doing so in the correct channel or in the dms!
good weekend everyone ! i hope that we’ve all had an amazing week and that this weekend is full of relaxation ! due to the beginning of the school year and the overall chaoticness of life, we want to give our members one and a half free weeks of activity. our next interest check will be on september 8th. this to give our members a much needed breather and a chance to focus on life, but you may continue posting if you wish to do so ! the main will continue to operate as normal, accepting new applications and questions, so please use this time to your advantage !
SEPTEMBER 8TH, 1980 ― the hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry is alive for another year of learning as the first week of classes come to a close, opening the door for their second week. the students are settling back into their classes, the first years are beginning to learn to navigate the ever-mystical castle, the prefects are back to roaming the halls every day to apprehend the reckless souls, and there’s laughter being thrown around the stone walls. dumbledore, over his half - moon spectacles, watches from his elegant chair as the great hall squirms with life once more. the daily prophet has finally stopped reporting about professor amberella’s rather unfortunate disappearance and hogwarts is once again highly regarded as one of the safest places to keep young witches and wizards, even without defense against the dark arts classes.
it’s two fifteen in the morning when a scream awakes hogsmeade village.
it’s two thirty in the morning when an owl swoops into dumbledore’s office as he tries to burn the midnight oil. the headmaster is about to dismiss it when the golden letters of “ministry of magic” gleams up at him. within minutes of opening the letter, the professors are awoken and summoned to his office. an air of curiosity hangs in the air as they all exchange a look, dumbledore waiting until the murmurs have died out to straighten the letter. as soon as his solemn air breaks the air, they all hold their breaths, beginning to read the stoic look on his face, knowing that it can mean no good. in a crowded office, he reads aloud:
“my dearest dumbledore,
i’m rather sorry for an owl at an hour such as this, but you know that i would never wake you unless it was life or death. professor amberella’s body was found by a family in hogsmeade, a mere few meters away from the path that leads back up to hogwarts. we’re still determining the cause of death, but there’s several snake bites to his body and it seems as though the poor fella was tortured a wee bit before his untimely death. the families in the area are already talking about leaving the village and visiting family elsewhere and we’re sure that there will be at least more than a few letters telling students that they have family now visiting them from hogsmeade. we, unfortunately, cannot promise that the daily prophet won’t have the story by morning as their utter vultures of photographers and writers arrived at the scene shortly after us. we are doing our best to contain this, but the matter of this death is far too suspicious for us to go about this business quietly. please let us know what your course of action will be.

the prefects are awakened by the end of the hour and they are instructed with the following: hogsmeade trips are postponed, any student caught out of bed past curfew would receive double punishment, students will be escorted either by professors or prefects to and from both classes and meals, no students are allowed outside of common room save for classes, club meetings are postponed, and if professors will be needing a student outside of class hours they will get the student themselves. in addition, quidditch matches have been postponed due to the crowd sizes while all practices will be monitored by a professor. posters are hung in common rooms outlining the new rules and punishments and by breakfast, NS there’s a noticeable change about the student body.
two days later, arabella bode ― a beauxbatons alumnus and former curse-breaker ― joins the professors’ table, head held high as dark eyes scrutinize the students below her. the first classes seem better than last year’s; professor bode gives a fifteen minute lecture on a spell, a five minute story on her personal history with the spell, and then the rest of the class is dedicated to questions and practice. the homework is only to perfect any spells that may not be a strong suit and come prepared for a quiz that applies the spells to real life situations. professor bode is adored by the student body as a whole, as she seems truly interested in teaching and truly ensuring that the students are at peak performance. as ambarella's death remains in the back of student heads, grief and apprehension looms over the student body.
hi everyone! i hope we’re all having a good, relaxing week so far! going into the weekend, the admin team here at reveliohq would like to make some announcements! please read this post all the way through, like it, and either dm us with a question or ask in the server!
starting on july 30th at 12:00 pm est until august 6th at 3:30 pm est, we will be holding a plotting blitz to encourage our members to branch out! this is certainly not a requirement as we understand that timezones and real life comes first, anyone who participates will receive 100 points per the muses house and you must plot with 3-4 characters that you have not plotted with to get these points. in addition, you will need to post an explanation with a 100 word count minimum explanation of the plot that you have. it can be a background of how the muses got to where they are, how they work together under certain conditions, or how they appear to outsiders! for example, if i plot eve with lily about how eve has been trying to get close with lily in an effort to cheat off of her in potions, my plot explanation would talk about why eve chose lily and how lily may react to this! eve's house (hufflepuff) would get 100 points and so would lily's house (gryffindor.)
starting today, revelio will put a hold on accepting new members and accepting fourth muses (when the time for it comes.) due to how fast this group grew in such a short amount of time, we understand how overwhelming it can be to plot with everyone while we still have new people coming in. members who are on the revelio blogroll as of july 29th will be able to have up to three muses once their week from the second muse is done. this hold is indefinite but by no means permanent, and we apologize to anyone new who was looking to apply for revelio.
UPDATE AS OF 8/2: revelio will allow 3 additional mun spots for 25 muns in total. this will be expanded in the future!
