"Oh my god. End of the world. Call the fire brigade because I forgot the raisin bran."

"Can't you take one thing seriously?" Derek yells back. "I just want healthy food. I don't care what shit you put in your body."

"Oh so you don't care about your dick being in my mouth or my ass? That's not what you were saying last night." Stiles just shrugs. "Guess I still have Boyd."

They both glance over at the man in question, who is just watching them with an amused smirk while pulling his hand out of the Cocoa Puffs box and popping a handful in his mouth.

"Seriously, Boyd?" Derek asks, gesturing at the chocolate cereal. "You're supposed to the be the sensible one."

Boyd shrugs. "I am being sensible. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day."

Maybe it was the reason they were drawn to each other. Either way, they all deal with it different ways. On the day of Stiles’ mom’s birthday, Derek and Boyd make sure to keep their distance. Derek sends a couple texts throughout the day with things like, “I love you. Hope you’re doing okay.“ and other encouraging things. Boyd sends funny pictures of Erica to cheer him up. Neither of them comment when Stiles doesn’t respond the whole day.

On the anniversary of the Hale fire, Boyd and Stiles pretend not to know what day it is or why Derek is quieter than normal. They both make sure to lavish him with love and whatever they think he needs. Last year, Stiles got him a kitten because he thought that Derek needed a companion as quiet as he is (he conveniently ignores how stupid that was and that the cat won’t stop meowing and purring and chirping. Derek named him Stiles 2.0).

The anniversary of Boyd’s little sister’s disappearance, they do what his little sister loved. They go ice skating, they get ice cream and eat it even though it’s freezing outside, and they try to point out shapes in the sky. Derek and Stiles pretend not to notice that Boyd is extra cuddly on those days and that his eyes don’t light up as much as they usually do. The pack also ignores how Boyd will disappear for the day and will only allow Stiles and Derek in his company.

On the days where it’s harder than usual for any of them, the other two offer silent comfort and don’t leave their side for the remainder of the day to remind them they still have each other and they’re not going anywhere.
