Jounouchi crushing on the bigger, cooler, tan version of Kaiba?!

AU in which Priest Seto can take over Kaiba‘s body via the Millennium Rod just like Atem with Yugi. Priest Seto wants to play matchmaker for Kaiba and Jounouchi, but to do that, he first needs to get to know Jounouchi better… Jounouchi is caught off guard by this new version Kaiba, while the actual Kaiba is burning with jealousy lmao

More puppyshipping with a twist! A revertshipping twist!

The following is a retelling of a dream I had and will tell it as such. This is the product what happens when you're rewatching yugioh and listening to the underworld saga of epic the musical at the same time

So the dream starts with ishizu having a vision about Seth and jou(joeys ancestor) being happy and in love, (i see a song of past romantic) then it flashs to jou being killed by seth's father, and Seth crying tears of anger and attacking him (i see the sacrifice of men, I see portals of betray and a brother's final stand) then it flashs to kaiba dueling a shadow game with Seth and losing, then Seth takes over kaiba's body(i see you on the brink of death, I see you draw your final breath, I see a man who gets to make it home alive..but it's no longer you)

Then ishizu calls kaiba to warn him but he just tells her to keep her "tarot card gibberish" to herself and hangs up. Sure enough, kaiba gets possessed(idk how) then the dream goes to Joey, he's talking to Tristan over the phone and tells him that kaiba has been acting strange and that he's feeling uneasy. Tristan tells him it's probably nothing but says that he'll come over soon just in case and hangs up.

A few minutes later Joey hears someone knocking on he's door and opens it to "kaiba" and his just comes inside, Joey starts telling "kaiba" that he's been acting strange and ask if his ok. Joey looks over to a minor and sees seth's reflection, Seth realizes that Joey knows and starts to tell him it's ok and not to panic. Spoiler alert, Joey panicked and runs out his apartment with Seth chasing him.

And the dream ends. Yes my dreams are always this vivid, no I don't know why, always been that way 🤷‍♀️

lil Revertshipping thing i did as a treat for LeechySmile on AO3 for Rare Pair Exchange 2023.

Confession #1: i'd never drawn either of these characters before (probably bc i always thought their hairstyles were too difficult lol)

Confession #2: i signed up for this event before i realized i'd need a biiiiig break from drawing/writing for a while, so i suppose i wasn't really hiatusing as i should

Confession #3: i had a HUGE crush on Jounouchi wayyy back in the day (i'm talking when i was like 9-10). i have a feeling if i re-read DM i will probably fall back hard lmao (sorry that i have grown up to be somebody who likes to make u suffer babe)

Nope, haven't done that one yet! But happy to say that I would ship it!

1. What made you ship it?

It being a variation of Puppyshipping makes it a no-brainer ofc, but it's more than that. Priest Seto has a different flavor of angsty, restless soul than Seto Kaiba because of their different upbringings. He has more depth, more like an ocean. He needs Joey's sun to make him believe in love again.

2. What are your favorite things about this ship?

I love the idea of both Priest Seto being buried into the modern world, but also Joey finding a way to adapt to Ancient Egypt. That kind of time displacement is a very fun trope to play with. Alternatively, Ancient Egypt Joey is just as fun of an idea: Apparently only commoners can get into Priest Seto's heart and give him hope.

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have about this ship?
