QOTD: “It’s not happy people who are grateful, it’s grateful people who are happy”. 🤗🌻 “The Authenticity Project” ~ By Clare Pooley ~ A Brilliantly written, heart warming read. The best of 2020! ❤️ ~ It all begins with a small green book titled- The Authenticity Project. 📗Julian Jessop, the owner of the book, is lonely and writes some truths about his life in this book and leaves it in a neighbourhood cafe. Monica who is the owner of the cafe finds The Authenticity Project, moved by Julian’s story she tracks him down and writes her own life story, which is then passed on to Hazard- an addict. What follows in this story is beautiful. ❤️ ~ I loved loved loved this book, the story, the characters, the cover- Everything!! ❤️❤️❤️ I did not want this book to end. Clare Pooley- you are exceptional!! Thank you for this book and for every single character. I’ve finished reading this book and I still can’t stop thinking about it. 🥰😍 ~ We all think the grass is greener on the other side, this book is a written example of the same. If you’re have a bad day or not, you should definitely read this book, it’s a uplifting and mood changing read. 🙌 5/5 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 #clarepooley #theauthenticityproject #photooftheday #reviewoftheday #bookstagramindia #bookstagrammerindia #bibliophile #bookreviewsofinstagram #bookreviewblog #bookbloggersofinstagram #readerofinstagram #review #bestbook2020 #bookish #indianbookstagrammer #booklover #qotd #bookrecommendations #bookishpics #bookishbounds #feelgoodbooks #penguinbooks #titlewavesbandra https://www.instagram.com/p/CN2KI3armqB/?igshid=1kxy0k13kgc47
Artist: Ninth Circle Title: Echo Black Genre: US Metal Release Date: 26th June 2020 Label: Pure Underground Records As you all know I was on hiatus for over two years and even then never worked as much as I do at the moment, because of that and uncounted other reasons I never became aware of NINTH CIRCLE but today seems to be my lucky day as I am able to give those guys a whole lot of attention. ‘Echo Black’ is the bands fourth full-length record and it totally rips! But I am getting ahead of myself and my normal modus operandi... so let us check the press text first: “NINTH CIRCLE is back! The compositions on the new album ‘Echo Black’ are catchier than ever before. You will find influences from the who is who of melodic Metal but NINTH CIRCLE combines them for a unique sound of their own. It doesn’t matter if you prefer NWoBHM, US Metal, or Euro-Metal, NINTH CIRCLE includes several styles in their totally convincing new material! Sometimes epic, sometimes powerful, but heard once you won’t get the songs out of your mind! The songs are diverse with a powerful production. What more do you need? It’s just wonderful!” Well, yes! The material is very diverse and features the best of every presented style, most of the time in a unique style I have not heard a million times before. The only thing that that reminds me of any other band is Dennis Brown’s voice because it reminds me of MEGA COLOSSUS’ Sean Buchanan. The song ‘Dance of Swords’ is the one that reminds me the most of MEGA COLOSSUS, ‘Then & There’ and ‘Tokyo Nights’ are the wet dream of every AOR afficionado and ‘Warrior’ is a RIOT cover featuring Todd Michael Hall the man with the golden pipes! That was only a selection of good songs as I really love almost everything about it (‘Echo Black’, ‘Forever More’). The overall style and execution are solid as a rock. Dennis Brown on vocal and riff / hook / shred duty is the MVP in my book but Richie Brooks (drums) and Frank Forray (bass) on rhythm section are the ones that make most of that possible with the frame he needs to work his melodic magic. This a very fine piece of music, buy this now!!! 9/10 #schwermetallisch #reviews #picoftheday #reviewoftheday (hier: Neumühl, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAxafv4ihag/?igshid=k49qtt7itnsy
Artist: Kenziner Title: Phoenix Genre: Progressive Power Metal Release Date: 26th June 2020 Label: Pure Steel Records Good evening dear readers, it is 10 o’clock and it is dark in Germany. Tonight, I present you KENZINER from Finland a nice prog metal combo that was formed in 1994. Pls check out the press text: “They were among the spearheads of heavy metal in the 1990s: KENZINER. The Finns were one of the leading representatives of the Neo-Classical style with a good dose of Power Metal. After their two classic albums in 1998 and 1999, it took them a few years to return to the scene in 2014 with their third album. Since then, mastermind / guitarist Jarno Keskinen had to involve a new singer, Peter “Zinny” Zalesky. But in 2020 KENZINER want to know it again and they present their fourth, huge new work. The classic keyboard sounds as well as the guitars in Power Metal style, which can be heard immediately. The extremely balanced production also brings out the strong vocals and, in total, leaves nothing to be desired. KENZINER also show a ballad-like atmosphere twice, but otherwise there is melodic Power Metal to be enjoyed by first-class musicians who master their craft and show their skills.” I don’t know about their older records but Zinny on vocals is definitely a force to be reckoned with, he reminds me of both Russel Allen (SYMPHONY X) and AXEL RUDI PELL’s Johnny Gioeli which are both very awesome and talented frontmen. And just to state it clearly and directly: there are lots of keys on this record and it does not suck, some overdo it and it sucks and sometimes it is not placed well but here it is very homogenous making it so essential to the overall sound that it is hard to imagine KENZINER’s sound without the keys (well done). I have a hard time making out the bass lines but I often have this problem. Guitar and drums are powerful, fast and precise (mad talent here). Listen to ‘Curse of the Pharao’ and ‘Shadow of the Moon’ those two songs are really great ear-candy. If you are a fan of highly melodic, keyboard heavy Progressive Metal, check out KENZINER 8.5/10 #schwermetallisch #reviewoftheday #picoftheday #heavymetal #metal #rock #prog (hier: Neumühl, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAsBUZFoiP2/?igshid=163g4uo1g9x3i
Ah the luck of the Irish... Tonight I write about a band named DEATH THE LEVELLER and their glorious first full length output ‘II’. This four-piece was formed in 2016 in Dublin and is named after a poem by James Shirley (1596 - 1666). The label’s press text says: “Ireland’s DEATH THE LEVELLER ‘II’ combines dark, impenetrable Doom with the sweeping arrangements of Epic Metal! There is an air of unassailable melancholy in Irish music. Its ballads, poetry, traditional music and folk traditions all carry the weight of loss of the men and women who experienced hardship and fought so vigorously for their country. Passed down through generations, it’s only natural for young musicians to have melancholy embedded in their DNA. What they do with it, however, is entirely up to them. For DEATH THE LEVELLER, music is the outlet and the common bond between its four members. Therefore, it is no surprise their first full-length album ‘II’ is the perfect union between dark, sweeping Epic Metal and Doom.” Well, Cruz Del Sur Music brought us last year’s return of legendary Doom band ORODRUIN, so my eternal gratitude is obviously theirs and wrong they are not! This is a damn fine piece of music: well executed, fusing soundscapes where guitar and bass are no mandatory directory for Dowling’s melancholic and pain fuelled vocals. ‘The Crossing’ feels like a wall of sound unstoppably moving forward brick by brick, a depression drenched juggernaut of a song. ‘The Hunt Eternal’ really grips you with its lurking riffs crouching forward, hiding in the darkness, waiting for you and then burst into painful vocals, soothing, dripping with sadness. The authenticity of the compositions is disarming, rendering one helpless leaving you unable to resist the experience. Most of the time I write and speak about well-made music, good instrumentalists and so on. Most artists I listen to while working are good, skilled at what they do but not everyone feels like the real deal... these guys do. People do whatever you have to do to keep them around making more of this. #schwermetallisch #reviews #picoftheday #doom #reviewoftheday #heavymetal #metal #rock #music #metalhead #hardrock #guitar https://www.instagram.com/p/B8TqC0_CSdM/?igshid=iev0ejbsn6mu
