Review Thursday: A Crack in the Line

             This book will be a little confusing to describe, so bear with me: Sixteen-year-old Alaric lives in a Victorian mansion that has seen better days. His mother passed away two years ago and he lives with his father. Eventually, he enters the River Room in his house, and touches an old decoration that belonged to the original family, the "Folly". After going through stifling pain that seems to be coming from the Folly, he is transported to what appears to be his own house. Alaric soon realises that he was transported to an alternate universe where his mother is still alive, however instead of having Alaric as a child, his parents have a daughter named Naia.

            Without spoiling the rest of the story- and it getsquitemysterious- I'd like to say that this book is genius. Complete with an alternate ending, A Crack in the Line left me wanting more, and the numerous unanswered questions just makes me want to buy the next two books in the series. 4 stars out of 5.
