So, remember Review Week? I managed to do Days 1-6, mostly on time and in order, but fell down on Day 7, review every chapter of a long fic. That was mainly due to my job getting busy as well as trying to wrap up writing my own long fic, “Scattered”. And then, not long after I did that, some blessed soul read that story and left comments on every single chapter.
So now I’m both finishing my Review Week and paying that karma forward. I have been reading “Slip the Surly Bonds” by Sol1056, a Garrison-days Sheith story, and loving the original take on Shiro’s career at the Garrison as well as a very detailed and nuanced characterization of problem-child Keith. Throw in some excellent background characters, including original ones and ones borrowed from Robotech/Macross, and it’s currently one of my favorite stories in progress.
