Revival arc — Stars
Gosh stars above. His head hurt. It hurt deeply. Augh. Where was he? He looked up, and around. Huh. Where was he? It was dark, pitch black. Full darkness.
He looked down, at his own hands. Why was he gray? He looked back up, searching almost, for any form of light source. He couldn't quite find anything. He got up. Then started walking. In any direction. He needed to go somewhere. He needed to find something, anything.
His head hurt. He felt tired. He should sit down for a while. Maybe take a small nap. It seemed so peaceful. He could worry about all of this tomorrow.
His head hurt too much anyways. He just. He needed a break. He really needed a break. He yawned now. The pressure of yawning helped his head actually. Maybe that meant he should stay away. Continue walking, make himself more tired so then the pressure in his head would go away.
He liked that idea. He kept walking. He was searching for anything. He needed something at the moment, anything. He just. He needed to find some form of comfortability.
Something familiar. He felt like he was walking for hours. And those hours felt like days. And those days felt like months, every step he took just felt like more and more time was dragging on. He really couldn't deal with this.
Maybe he could just sit down. Just for a little bit. Just until he could think again. He liked that idea. Sitting down felt nice. It felt really nice. So he sat down. The ground was cold. He liked the cold. It reminded him of home.
Treasure Reef was cold. It was always cold. He loved Treasure Reef. Why did he ever leave in the first place? He was comfortable there. He should have stayed home.
Home. He wanted to go home.
Flynt pushed off the ground again. He stood on shaky legs. Taking a breath, he focused in on his surroundings again. He looked around, making a full circle.
Then he spotted it. A light.
The light looked so pretty. It was amazing. He needed to go near it. He wanted to hold it, to feel the warmth of it.
Warmth. He loved warmth. Maybe not as much as he liked the cold. But there were some warmths he loved better than colds. Like Vela and Kibidi. He loved their warmth. He could hold onto Vela and Kibidi all day if he could. He missed them actually. He missed them a lot. He should go find them.
He was.. He was getting sidetracked. Flynt looked around again. He spotted the light once more. He walked again, walking closer and closer to the light.
You know who reminded him of light? Isol. They reminded Flynt of light. They were so nice. Trying to keep Flynt safe even though he had been stuck in that non-verbal state. They brought light to him, it was a nice light too. It truly was.
No. He was getting off topic again. He didn't want that. He took a small breath, he kept walking. Walking towards the light he saw.
When he finally reached the light, it, looked like him. Or another kid. Someone. He didn't know. He helped them up. Then hugged them softly.
He needed that. Needed to hug someone. He had wanted to hug someone before dying. He felt okay now. He would be fine dying now. But it seemed like someone else wasn't ready for him yet. He could tell. He took a breath now. The air was clean, so clean. It was nice.
He drew closer and closer to whatever was pulling him close. The darkness was fading away. He was feeling better now. Everything got bright, he saw spirits he had met before. He saw golden light, the darkness itself was beautiful too. See Vela, darkness was beautiful too. You just needed to look correctly. Look for the right thing. And then you'd see, darkness was beautiful too.
He smiled now. Vela. He missed Vela. He missed Kibidi too. He wanted to see them again. He reached out, trying to grab hold of the light that was in front of him. He needed to travel more. He wanted to travel more. He wanted to explore more things. He wanted to see more. He felt happy.
He'd get to see more. He knew he would be able to. He just needed to wait a little while. Then things would get better and he would be able to see all the things he wanted to.
Keep walking Flynt. Then you would be able to see Vela again, then you'd be able to see Kibidi again, Isol too. You could hold all their hands, you could hug onto them as much as you wanted. Flynt wanted that.
He wanted to hug onto them for as long as he wanted. He wanted to be able to rest his head against Kibidi and listen to her talk, listen to whatever she had to say.
He wanted to stay next to Vela and hold his hand, be comforted by his cape. He wanted to go on a walk with Isol. But this time he wanted to be able to talk to them and walk. Not just hear them ask questions and not answer. He could do that. He could find them again. He wanted to.
The light seemed to be getting closer and closer. The light engulfed him fully. He smiled softly. The light faded into the clouds and he was flying again, relaxing in the air. He let himself reach out towards nothing.
He felt safe. He didn't need to worry anymore. At least while he was up here. He was given another chance. From Megabird herself. He was grateful. Grateful for her and her choice in giving him a second change. He would use this chance more wisely. He would spend more time with his friends. He would do more for himself and others.
