It’s Singer Check-In Time! Today we catch up with RVS singer Amelia Sanzo to chat about her sessions at the studio.

Why did you join RVS?
I joined RVS at the beginning of 2015 to get some extra guidance on developing my singing technique and to achieve my dream of being in the musical theatre industry. I had always been a strong dancer but felt I needed some extra guidance on how to strengthen my voice. RVS had coached a friend of mine and it came highly recommended.
What was your goal when joining the studio?
When I joined the studio I not only wanted to improve my singing technique but also wanted to learn more about how the voice actually works. I wanted to know how to make different sounds so that it would be easier for me to sing anything I wished. The more versatile I can become the more opportunities will exist in the musical theatre world.
Have you achieved any of your goals?
I am definitely on the way to achieving my goals through my work at the studio. I feel I have more control over my voice because I know exactly how it is working and how I’m making every sound.
What do you enjoy the most about singing at RVS?
RVS have a lovely and enthusiastic team that make me feel welcomed and excited. Every time I go in there I am greeted by a smile and know that it is a safe place to make mistakes and improve.
What are you currently working on in your sessions?
In my sessions I am currently working on songs for the musical ‘Legally Blonde’. We are working on the techniques, such as “belting” that will be useful in executing these songs as best as I can.
Current projects:
In April I will be happily playing the role of Elle Woods in Shane Davidson’s production of Legally Blonde Junior. I will be performing on April 15th, at 7:30pm and Saturday the 16th, at 2:00pm.
