NEWS: Cold Water / Eamon McGrath split 7" coming soon!

Got some hot news. Super psyched to announce the upcoming release of a split between Calgary's Cold Water and Edmonton's (he'll always be an Edmontonian to us) Eamon McGrath - two of Canada's true purveyors of heavy roots-rock. Folk should never be an excuse to be light-weight and sentimental, but rather a chance to reflect the world at large, get gruff and hoarse and air out feelings from the gut.

We've been talking about doing this split for over a year, and now that the tests have been OK'ed, it's finally happening. Should be out within the month, keep your eyes and ears peeled! Be sure to catch Cold Water at Sled Island, be sure to catch Eamon everywhere else.

NEWS: Stalwart Sons / Self Defense Family split 7" Announced

This record has been in the works for a long time, and we've been keeping it under-wraps lest it never see the light of day. Well now Revolution Winter is over the moon to announce the split between Cohoes, New York's Self Defense Family and Calgary, Alberta's Stalwart Sons: two of the most staunchly forward-moving and stubbornly smart bands separated by the 49th.

Should be out before Ghost Throats.

REWIN009: Segwei - Soul Deep

Revolution Winter is over the moon to announce the release of the new LP from Tokyo, Japan’s SEGWEI entitled Soul Deep. After a couple EP’s and a split with End of a Year (Self Defense Family), Soul Deep is the band’s first full length; 11 songs of churning revolution summer-style post-hardcore. Rites of Spring is an obvious touchstone, but that does nothing to describe how absolutley cathartic the album is, how mature and heady, how curiously Japanese, how comeplely of its own it is to Segwei.

And if the package weren’t sweet enough, the LP includes a full-size, full-colour booklet of lyrics and photos.
