ReWatch: Stargate SG1 - S2, E19

Ep 19:  One False Step I love that Jack comments on a sneeze from Daniel with “bless” - I also have a soft spot when Jack wears a backward baseball cap.

Jack gets a headache, Daniel is sneezing all the time and they start to be snippy with each other.   Ahhhh this is the episode where Daniel has a little tantrum jumping and spinning - I love it so much.  🤣💜 

Such an odd episode, but I like the quirky feel of it.  Not them taking one of the individuals back to Command, because even Dr Fraser admitted that she couldn’t do anything to help because she didn’t know what could help or hurt.  And once again Sa doesn’t share her thoughts or hunches with the group and makes them stand there and wait.  Craziness.

ReWatch: Stargate SG1 - S2, E21 & 22

Ep 21: 1969 Oh yippie, timetravel.  Buuuuut this is a fun one.  Daniel answered in Russian if they were Soviet spies and Jack (if he was closer) would have hit the back of his head.  But Hammond knew they were going back in time, never mentioned the fact that as younger-Hammond he helped them.  And this is the rub for me and time travel eps.  Solar flares, into the future and past where Hammond and Cassandra know things.  Ahhhhhh

Teal’c stops a stereotypical 60’s van for hippies and it’s so awkward.  Jack and Daniel make another Star Wars joke.

Note: The actor playing young-Hammond did an excellent job with mimicking the regular actor’s speech pattern.

Fave dialog Jack: My name isn’t Kirk.  It’s Skywalker.  Luke Skywalker.

Daniel: Well I speak 23 different languages.  Pick one.

Ep 22:  Out of Mind Season finale is a clip show?  Huh.  That’s a choice.

And to anyone that has every watched enough TV, it was very obvious from the start that Jack was being lied to and that they weren’t really in the SGC.

It’s interesting to see Daniel’s hair get shorter by increments (and it’s so blonde)

ReWatch: Stargate SG1 - S2, E18

Ep 18: Serpent’s Song I love the opening here, Daniel lounging on the steps like some of “French girl”    🤣  But late, when Daniel was interrogating Apophis, he was mean and serious and I loved the way he told Apophis that he was the one that took his son.  So fantastic of him, although I’m not sure if he would’ve followed through with the death threat or not, but I believed him in that moment.

It’s nice to have the “big bad” of Apophis dead, we can move onto other baddies.

ReWatch: Stargate SG1: S2, E8

Ep 8: Family Oooh, Teal’c - read the room.  Your wife moved on, with a trusted friend, which twists the knife even more, but he was gone for… how long?  Still very uncomfortable though.  I also didn’t like the way he said “woman be quiet” when she approached him.  While she could have sent word, maybe? She was doing what was best for her son, and you have to respect that.

It was really great that Flo’tec was on their side and it should have stayed that way instead of Flo’tec getting his feelings hurt because the woman he wanted, wanted someone else.  Sheesh.

It does suck that there’s so many questions about his son, being used by Apophis and then the way they “fixed” him… another way to help a person infected by a Goa’uld?

ReWatch: Stargate SG1 - S1, E14 - 16

Ep 14: Singularity A little girl survives a plague, they aren't sure why but it may have to do because she has stargate particles in her blood and what essentially is a bomb in her chest.

I like a smart Jack, with his telescope - although he could have explained a black hole better to Teal'c.  it's black, and sucks everything in.

It's terrible, the plot of using a young child as a ploy to get to your enemy.  Damn Goa'uld.  I'm still a little unclear on how this science worked with the girl.  But Jack handing her the dog, and Daniel and Sam holding her hand.  Very sweet.

Ep 15: Cor-ai Finally, a world that recognizes Teal'c. It was bound to happen, just took over half the season to get there.  I do enjoy how Daniel and Sam are horrified that Jack is going to speak on Teal'c's behalf, until they decide to be "co-counsels". 

It was Jack's idea to do the trial but then he loses faith in it and think a show of force is going to help the situation.  Jack, Jack, Jack - come on now.  Now Daniel's left to do the defense alone. 

Ep 16: Enigma Volcanic activity, air filled with ash, so much ash.  But it did make them dirty, and I do love it when they get dirty.

awww Narim, having a crush on Sam and his wondrous outlook is adorable.  It is silly that they returned the devices without knowing for sure what they were.  I mean, come on.  Plus Omoc is not trustworthy, might have to do with the it being played by Tobin Bell.  He just gives off don't trust me vibes.

Damn, Hammond pulling out the rank on Mayborn, and so he should since Mayborn isn't a nice person - especially once he gets his way.  I enjoy Daniel's dismay when the President he voted for sided to keep Tollan's in their custody.  It's like how I feel about elected officials sometimes.

Narim's recording of his emotions is... weird.  Sweet in a way but still kind of weird, what do  you say to that? 

(sigh) Daniel's so pretty and I love his sarcasm so much; the touching of his ear as though he could hear Mayburn is peak bitchiness.

ReWatch: Stargate SG1: S1, E19 - 21

Ep 19: There But for the Grace of God Oh Daniel, I know the mirror was calling to you, but you shouldn't have touched it.  Now you're in some weird alternate reality where Jack is a General, and it's a bit disappointing that it took Daniel so long to clue into what was happening.  And then he was confused for a bit before being his brilliant self.

Sam geeking out over the proof of parallel universes was adorable, very on point.  Not loving seeing Jack and Daniel at odds, and while it's not the right Jack, it still twigs my emotions a little.  I love that Daniel stands firm in what he believes and how to help, even if these aren't his trusted people.

Teal'c has a weird hari-do.  And Jack and Sam are engaged, noooo.  😆  😂  If you wanted to kill some characters, using an alternate relativity is the way to do it, no real emotional attachment.  But to bring a message back about the Goa'uld coming, you have to tak it seriously.

Ep 20: Politics Why don't the team believe Daniel?  It's ... frustrating because they've already seen so much.  And for comic relief Jack is stuck on the fact that he and Sam were engaged (against regulations!) in the other reality.  Also got a thrill with Hammond coming in with "how's our boy?" referring to Daniel.  He really was seen as younger than he was  😂

Senator Kinsey is an asshole, so smug and annoying because he's already looked at the files and has his talking points highlighted so that it paints the picture he wants. 

And it would be great if they got everyone on the same page regarding pronunciation.  Most only do one syllable.

Not a fan of clip shows, and that's what this one was.  It's more understandable when there are at least several seasons, but with just one, it seems like overkill.

Ep 21: Within the Serpent's Grasp ooooh, SG1 is serious with their black covert gear.  And why is everyone in a beanie but Jack who is wearing a backward baseball hat.  Somehow he doesn't look ridiculous but very attractive.  ☺️

And then they get onto a ship... by mistake.  It's such an SG1 thing to do.    But goddamn, Daniel is so competent with shooting and going after the Jaffa 🔥  (I think he's been training.  Then he gets in Kloel's grasp and Jack had to choose between saving Daniel or shooting the body of Skaara.  Poor Jack 😢

Nice cliffhanger though.

ReWatch: Stargate SG1: S1, E17 - 18

Ep 17: Solitudes I never noticed how much Teal'c frowns, he does it all the time.  And Daniel just rolled with having Teal'c staring at him while he gains consciousness.  😜  (The gash on Daniel's head is really nasty looking.)

Sam is so focused on science and math that she spirals downward into negativity so quickly.  Jack pulls her out of it, but it's a recurring theme.  While Jack has some experience with keeping hope when all is lost, this is Sam's first time with things looking hopeless while on a mission.

It's great to watch Daniel and Teal'c reach the same conclusion as Sam, so they can start trying to narrow down where the wormhole spit out Jack and Sam.  With the use of a board and the gate doctor (that's what I'm calling him) they paint a plausible picture.  As a Daniel fan, I love that he figured it out.  And going even further to t

It's also fun to know that when SGA starts, that's where John Sheppard is sent: Antarctica.

Fave dialog Sam: What's the matter with your chest? Jack: I think I might also have a cracked rib. Sam: Why didn't you say something? Jack: I was afraid you'd try and put a splint on it

Daniel: (to Teal'c) What happens when you dial your own phone number? Wrong person to ask.

Ep 18: Tin Man Janet tells Jack he's got no heartbeat, the syringe comes out with a milky fluid and Jack's first response is to dig into his own arm with a scalpel and peel back the skin.  That is not normal 😆

And when they start to collapse, Hammond just has them pushed through the gate as they tumble through to the other side.  

Harlan made play things with no concern for what they wanted.  It's not as though they were sick or inured, he just didn't want to be alone anymore.  This episode could have been a bit more fun, or more serious, but it exist in this middle ground where Jack is very grumpy.  His grumpiness is the main reason I'm struggling to enjoy this episode.

Stargate ReWatch: Stargate SG1: S1, E8 - 10

Ep 8: Brief Candle There is a lot to unpack here, like Jack saying that Daniel never ceases to amaze him.  Jack is seduced, against his will/drugged, which... is not a good thing. 

They even pointed out that everyone was beautiful, no one was over 40 - but they allowed Jack to be whisked away!  Danger! Danger!

I also appreciate Daniel shouting at Hammond and slamming his hand (listen, this is my ship so I'm gonna see what I want  😃)

Fave dialog: Daniel: A 100 day celebration? ... Guess we should pace ourselves

Ep 9: Thor's Hammer Daniel is like a kid in a candy shop and Jack is smiling fondly as he explains why.  It's adorable. 

I thought they had moved on from tripping out of the 'gate but in this one they tumbled out again.  At least we don't have to hear the whirl of the gate travel each time anymore.  😝

Why did they just stand there?  I don't get it.  But Jack and Teal'c get to meet Thor (which is kind of hilarious now); and we hear Jack call Teal'c's symbiote "junior"  💜

This one is hard, because they have to destroy something to allow Teal'c to come out, but that means Sha-re and Skara won't be able to healed.

Ep 10: The Torment of Tantalus Daniel is so fun to watch when he's excited about learning or sharing knowledge.  His hair is just everywhere, and his eyes so blue.  💜  And Jack's for crying out loud is just so perfect everytime he uses it.

I do think Katherine was a bit harsh with Ernest, she is hoarding some anger regarding how things went down 50 years prior; but it's not like the man had a choice.  He's been alone that whole time.  She does come around, but I just felt so bad for Ernest.

Daniel is the picture of a kicked puppy when he whines about the having to shoot his new container of knowledge, possibly losing information about the universe.  He does get singularly focused 🙃

A little error: I don't recall how Katherine would know Sam well enough for the hugging and familiarity. 

Fave dialog Daniel: I'm willing to take that risk. Jack: I'm not. Let's go!! (manhandles Daniel away from the knowledge thingy)
