when pyro gets turned and joins the coven he brings the kids with him even though theyre still human. because what else is he gonna do? run off and abandon his children with a bunch of strangers? the whole point of him willingly turning was to protect them! its only natural for him to want to keep them close.

timeline wise im picturing pyro turning around episode 3 or 4, pretty shortly after the vampires are definitively revealed and before owen snaps. back when he still wants to be part of a family. and this guy willingly walks into the castle ready to join that family with two kids in tow.

the kids are young, possibly young enough to have not yet learned to hate the Other. and pyro has done his best to stop them from internalizing the worst of czeslaws behaviors. theyre good kids.

owen would deny being fond of them (theyre still human afterall), but he cant help himself from ruffling their hair and making sure they dont get hurt while playing. they climb him like a jungle gym and for the most part he just lets it happen. they dont recoil from him, they dont treat him like a monster, and it makes him melt just a little bit.

pyro notices how much the kids like him and how much he likes them. owen is the only person in oakhurst that pyro is willing to leave the kids alone with. theyre safe with him.
