Angel Drabble
What’s the deal with your brother?
I’m sorry. Posting on mobile is too hard to tag people but here’s a short little Drabble.
You were going towards the library to return the book you’d finished when the revving of a motorcycle fills your ears and you turn to find him.
Angel Reyes.
“Miel! Ma!” He shouts, trying to flag you down. Ez tells him to stop but he won’t. He hasn’t stopped in almost a month.
“Jesus Christ, Angel, what?” You hiss, spinning on your heel to face the street where the cute biker sits smirking at you. Licking his lips and winking at you confidently, he parks the bike and Ez follows behind, obviously embarrassed.
“Hey baby,” he nods, hooking an arm around your shoulder. Scoffing and shrugging, you duck out from under him. His smile falters for a second but the swagger was back in seconds.
“Hey, you wanna go out tonight?” Angel asks, his eyes dropping from your chest to your thighs, exposed under your shorts.
“Hey, is that ‘Of Mice and Men’?” Ez pipes, pushing passed Angel’s attempt to block him and slipping the book from her hand.
“Yeah, actually. You read it?” You ask, giving him a smile.
“Yeah, I didn’t like the ending.” He shrugs, handing back the book.
“I love the storyline. I just wish there was a way to save Lenny.” You whisper, feeling the tears well in your eyes. Lenny was a character you’d grown to love purely. He was sweet and special needs, much like your childhood best friend. Your friend had passed away from terminal cancer when you two were younger, about fifteen.
“It’s okay, Lenny didn’t deserve it. They should’ve understood him better, ya know?” Ez murmurs, rubbing your shoulder. Ez walks you into the library to help you find a new book, suggesting a book you’d already read. “Here, try this one. Tuesdays with Morrie’ it’s a good one. But don’t forget the tissues.” He laughs, patting your shoulder.
“Hey, what’s your brother’s deal?” You ask, giving him a smile.
“I have no idea. You wanna see who he really is, come to the party at the clubhouse tonight. He’s actually a pretty cool guy when he isn’t trying to woo you.” He laughs, heading for the door.
“Really? I think he almost died when I told him ‘no’ the first time.” You giggle.
“Yeah he doesn’t take rejection well. Especially when women often throw themselves at him.” He laughs. You snort, shaking your head. “Hey, but seriously. Come to the clubhouse party tonight.” He nods, heading out.
Taking your book and dropping it into your bag, tucking a fly away behind your ear, you hop into your car and head towards the clubhouse. As you pull in and park by Angel’s bike, you find him standing with a couple other guys laughing with a beer in his hand.
“Well damn!” You hear from behind you and get confused, this guy wasn’t wearing a kutte of any shape or form. He grabs your rear and gives you a wink. He was tall, longer dark hair brushing his shoulders, and his arm a sleeve of tattoos. “You look mighty fine. You belong to anyone here?”
“N-no. No I don’t. I was just stopping to visit-“
“Uh oh, Angel your damsel in need of saving.” Chucky crows from the porch pointing to you.
“Riz!” He shouts, storming towards you and the tall man with dark hair.
“Listen man,” the drunken man tries but Angel hauls him towards the edge of the building and plows a fist into Riz’s face over and over until the drunk hits the ground.
“Christ, miel. I’m sorry, you okay?” Angel asks, a gentle hand on your shoulder.
“I’m okay.” You whisper, leaning into his hand. He didn’t seem to care, grabbing your shoulder he pulls you into his arms.
“Come here and sit.” Angel whispers, pulling you to the bench and sitting you next to him. “Prospect, a beer for the lady.” Angel barks, his eyes never leaving you.
“Oh Angel, no. He doesn’t have to do that.” You try, but Ez shushes you.
“It’s my job.” He assures with a smile as he stands and heads for the bar.
“Miel.” Angel whispers, grabbing your hand. “Can I kiss you?” He asks. Looking at him, you playfully think about it for a second before nodding. Angel leans in, grabbing you and pulling you against him and pressing his lips warmly to yours.
“Angel.”
“Miel, I wanted that so bad. I need so many more.” He chuckles against your lips as he kisses you again and again.
