Fadeshock (Fade x Neon) - 8/10

Easily my favorite ship for both characters. I'm just a big fan of the way they complement each other—they're on a similar level to sagebean in my brain where they have enough differences between them to keep their interactions and dynamic interesting, but they're also not too dissimilar. Neon's brand of restrained recklessness and subtle uncertainty is balanced out well by Fade's more mature nature and confidence. Plus, I think they would be good for each other in terms of Fade helping Neon overcome her fears surrounding her radiance and Fade needing someone she can rely on and be open with when her own radiance leaves her struggling. That being said, they aren't my favorite ship ever; more like an enjoyable background ship that stays constant in my brain and stories while I focus on others.

Reygebean (Reyna x Sage x Viper) - 9/10

I already explained in my other post how all of their individual combinations fit together, so it only makes sense that all three would work as a ship! The extra fun part though is how the addition of that third person automatically spices up whatever dynamic the other two would've had, and it also opens the door for some other fun mini-dynamics within the ship. For example: Reyna and Sage both getting scolded by Viper for being too selfless and reckless. Viper and Reyna getting calmed and chided in equal measure by Sage when their bloodlust gets too out of hand. Viper and Sage getting dragged away from their work by Reyna because they've both been neglecting themselves. All of them feeling the need to put on some level of bravado or keep up appearances in front of the others, but not needing to with one another. Reyna bringing out the party animal and more thrill-seeking side in Viper, and thus the both of them adding some more thrill to Sage's life. Sage bringing a level of calm and comfort to both Reyna and Viper's lives and grounding them. Viper bringing a sense of order and steel to Sage and Reyna's lives, and thus prompting them not only to advocate for themselves more, but also be more analytical and disciplined people all-around. And then there's just the fact that even passively, they would encourage each other to be more open and indulge their natural caring tendencies. All in all I just think they'd be a peak power throuple.

Healphobia (Sage x Fade) - 5/10

I feel entirely neutral toward this ship, ngl. 💀 Really though, I do feel like, especially considering canon atm, they could bond over their radiance hurting them—and they're the only two agents who really have that in common (I'm not counting Omen since his radiance didn't cause his current state, but is rather a byproduct of it), so that could be a fun dynamic to explore. That being said, I just...can't really picture them romantically? At all? Maybe some excellent ship art or fic could persuade me, but as of now, I just feel like they fit better as friends. To me these two are both too level-headed and kind in their default states to really spark any super fun interactions. I mean, I can imagine some interesting scenarios where Sage helps Fade ease the consequences of Nightmare and they bond through that, or maybe Sage being one of the first to truly welcome Fade into the VP and coax her out of her shell, but I just don't feel like the ship truly has that X factor to me. Relationships aren't defined by transaction, but at the same time, in fiction, characters should be able to give and take something from one another that they can't obtain alone (or would struggle to, at least), and I don't see what Fade could readily provide Sage that another agent couldn't. Well, okay, I do—I just think there are other characters who could fill the role better and in a more interesting way, and the same goes for what Sage could provide Fade. So yeah, I think they could be interesting and cute...but not supremely so. Not really my thing.

Of course, this is all a very logical approach to shipping lmao—but I think you can tell by my explanation for all of the ships I've given my opinion on that this is just how my brain assesses the merits of ships.

I need more Sabyna and Sagebean fics on ao3. More Reyge- well that one honestly I’m being fed well on. But Sagebean and Sabyna. MORE REYGEBEAN. LET THEM ALL HOLD HANDS AND KISS.

What I’d give to see those three be happy together. Let them care about each other.

But also the fun you could have with their dynamics before getting to that point? The juice? The drama?
