I think so? I’m not great with like… differentiating between romantic/platonic/alterous attraction. But there are many people that I love very deeply, and I do have a partner that I hope to spend my life with, regardless of whether it ends up being a more traditional romantic relationship or a lifelong friendship or something in between.

I currently consider us somewhere between romantic and queerplatonic. I spend a lot of time thinking about where I’m gonna take them on dates and how we should decorate our future home. Every time I find a recipe, I think about whether they would like it. (In case you can’t tell, I tend to show my love through food.) Every time something new happens, I want to tell them about it, even if I would be embarrassed to share it with other people. And they’re the most patient and loving person in the world. So yeah, I think that might be what love is.

Try coffee! Caffeine apparently has a similar affect to adhd meds

Yeah, caffeine is a stimulant (like most ADHD meds), so a lot of us self-medicate with coffee or soda. I’ve found that caffeine sometimes helps me focus, but mostly it just makes me want to take a nap. Also, coffee makes me really sick, for some reason? Soda works sometimes, or really strong tea. Biology is weird.

you have no place making terf comparisons if you're not a trans woman/impacted by transmisogyny. if trans women want to compare the rhetoric, that's up to THEM, and if they don't, that's ALSO up to them. not you. it doesn't matter how many you know, because there are plenty of other trans women who have expressed discomfort with people who aren't trans women pulling this shit. cut it out.

I’m not making “TERF comparisons,” I’m talking about their rhetoric. TERFs are evil. They target marginalized people, disabled people, scared people. They find ways to make their rhetoric palatable. Discourse on this site (especially in LGBTQ+ and feminist circles) is rife with hidden TERF rhetoric. They’re using the ace discourse to indoctrinate people.

My point is that we need to be aware of what’s really being said. I don’t think people are even necessarily doing it out of malice, it’s just something we don’t think about as much as we should.

But like you said, it’s not my place to comment on that. I’m trans, so I am a target, but I’m not their primary target because I’m TME. TERFs will never seek to hurt me in the way that they hurt trans women.

So, if any trans women want to contribute?

EDIT: This post wasn’t worded super well. In the first paragraph, I meant that TERFs target those people for indoctrination. And I’m not claiming anyone is a TERF or even intentionally using their rhetoric, and I’m not even going to go into the radfem thing because I have no idea what that means. I just meant that TME (transmisogyny exempt) people in particular need to be careful of where our arguments are coming from. Compulsory heterosexuality seems like good queer theory, but it comes from TERF rhetoric and is used specifically to hurt trans women and, to a lesser extent, bi and multi-spec people (especially bi women).And I’m sorry that I made that other post in anger. I exaggerated and said stuff that was out of my lane, but I still think this is a valid discussion about how harmful rhetoric can infect communities.

Yeah. I was more annoyed about this post I’ve seen a few times where someone claims that nonbinary people (specifically genderfluid people) aren’t LGBT because they don’t get killed for their identity.However, I do support having an N in the acronym for nonbinary people who don’t identify as trans, even though I generally do.

hi! i hope you dont mind my question. what does 'bi aroace' mean? i've always thought bi implied bisexuality or biromantism, that's why i'm confused.

Bi does generally refer to bisexual or biromantic, so I can see why you’re confused! I’ve had a lot of trouble figuring out my sexuality and gender, probably in part because I’m autistic. I figure that I’m probably on the aro and ace spectrums, but I do sometimes get crushes on people (or sometimes I just want a romantic/sexual relationship with someone). So I went with bi aroace. Demi or gray would probably be more accurate, but I just don’t like those terms for me personally.

Also, I got way too much hate for just identifying as queer. It’s still primarily what I call myself, but bi aroace is more specific and still accurate.
