Trans people who use 4Chan feel almost like extremophile bacteria living on the edge of an active volcano. Except the volcano is transphobic, calls you slurs, sends you death threats, and makes you depressed and self loathing.

I don't think living on the edge of a transphobic active volcano is a good idea.

Chapter 2: The Facility

Luis arrives at the facility which will allegedly help to rehabilitate him. He is not entirely surprised that he doesn't receive a warm welcome. He is forced to scrub himself raw and shave his hair to ensure he is not bringing anything in, and afterwards he is introduced to the doctor who will be overseeing his care and progress while he is at this facility. The Doctor is a man by the name of Abel, and he has collected every bit of information he can on Luis, and while he is more accepting of Luis' identity than most, Luis is skeptical he will actually do anything to actually help in that regard. Uncertain how he feels about this place, Luis will have plenty of time to.speculate.

The terms tme and tma are not exorsexist. Transmisogynists say they are. Please do not tag it with exorsexism, I like the terms tma and tme specifically because they are transfem inclusive.

TME means transmisogyny exempt, TMA means transmisogyny applicable. TMA includes trans women and many amab nonbinary people. Tme includes all cis people, trans men and some nonbinary people, and the term refers to how they have some systemic power over trans women.

Transmisogynists try to delegitimize the terms by pretending that it doesnt include nonbinary people (it does, it just talks about how some nonbinary people are treated differently than others), or that its bigoted against transmascs, when it isnt, it just is recognizing they are not transfem. Transmisogynists saying it is intersexist also are not recognizing intersex trans women's struggles.

Please do not tag all posts that use tme and tma as "intersexism" or "exorsexism". As a nonbinary trans woman i would not feel particularly safe using this blog if thats the reaction to basic transfeminism

Honestly, that's what I always understood it to mean. If you experienced transmisogyny or not. Nobody was asking anything specific and personal. I just don't see how it's targeting nonbinary people specifically. And when it comes to intersexism, this is where the nuance comes in. Maybe it applies and maybe it doesn't. Especially when intersexed people aren't told they are intersexed by their health care providers and are still expected to know if they are tma or tme. [Plus having to divulge personal medical information is, like, really awful and I sympathize with anyone being confronted with shit like 'well just tell us your hormone levels or whatever'. That's just evil and gross harassment.] Trying to definitively outline anything when it comes to gender, agab, sexuality, and everything that overlaps with in this society, imo, isn't possible. There is nuance when it comes to discrimination and I wish tumblr didn't see it so black and white.

Side note: I don't think a lot of you know what a slur is, much less pejorative or derogatory language.

I'm sorry to hear some people are using it in weird or outright sexual harassing ways like pretending it indicated anything about genitals or things like that. But the problem with the people, not the terms. If there are other or better terms, people are welcome to use them, or blacklist them, or add caveats if they feel it's necessary.

Also nobody ever did say how it was racist. I can see why the intersection of race, ethnicities, nationalities, and so forth would provoke discrimination based off and around conforming to what a gender is supposed to look like according to white able bodied heteronormative society. But like, argue your case? Or don't, I don't want to discuss this further. This isn't really the place for it.

Anyways: if you don't like the words, please use tumblr's built in blacklisting option. I'm not tagging them with exorcism or intersexism, and they aren't banned from use here.

Content warning for UK EHRC/BBC journalistic transphobia here, but in this just-released article about the guidance (which for the record I will entirely ignore):

Saw somebody point out the inconsistency in how they include the whitespace in "trans man" but omit it when they say "transwoman".

Think that's worth noting, as it implies a deliberate intent to use the dogwhistle. The discourse about "trans woman" vs "transwoman" has almost universally been in that context, by radfems hyperfocused on asserting that trans women are not women; so somebody specifically was reminding themselves to not use trans as an adjective for women, then totally passed over the inconsistency and used it as the natural adjective in the very next sentence.

Actually, starting a sentence with "And" there strikes me as improper, like the mention of trans men was an afterthought tacked on after the fact.

I feel like the thing is we all need to be better allies for eachother in thr lgbt community esp in the furry community. Like what I mean is, theres this idea that opression is monolithic which is really appealing to the part of the brain that craves simplicity but oppression is actually custom tailored to each and every identity and you need to learn to identify certain patterns so that when you see them, alarm bells start going off in your head.

Like I just saw in the comments section of an instagram video referencing a transfemme fursuiter that ' actually that person is bad bc shes likes zoo stuff' and then the reply was 'omg i didnt know thats so awful i promise we arent all like that' and its like. Hello. "Hey I heard (no sources) that (transfemme) is a (variety of pervert) so we should (socially ostracize and express disgust) her" should immediately make you stop and question the validity of that claim.

First off, the suiter was just being referenced so theres no need to make anyone ethically responsible for anything anyways. Second why is this not a dm to op instead of a public comment. Third, if you do feel the need to know the truth why dont you look into it for yourself. Fourth, even if a call out DOES exist you should question why it does. In the end all roads lead to deleting that comment instead of contributing to public shaming.

The same people will be like I hate transphobes and its like THAT is what transphobia LOOKS LIKE. If a republican senator said that about a trans woman you'd be on alert. Why does that guard not exist when it comes from the mouth of another queer person, holy shit. The same people will use 'gay panic' to refer to being attracted to someone in public and its like fuck man this is why we need better education and better standards. "Im not a transphobe so I cant be transphobic, I'm not a racist so I cant be racist" thats not how that wooorrrkkksss
