Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival 2017
Highlights from the 2017 Tomato Festival in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, celebrating ALL things tomato in the birthplace of the Tomato. The festival has been going on in the East Side suburb of Columbus since 1966, and it celebrates Reynoldsburg’s legacy as the place where the commercialized paragon tomato was born. The festival was held at Huber Park on Davidson Drive, just south of Main Street, just west of Blacklick Creek.
A doll-house replica of the Livingston House (where tomato farmer Alexander W. Livingston and his family lived) was on display, along with festival merchandise, food trucks, a beer garden (tucked behind the Senior Center, next to the Stage). I got there right after the Opening Ceremonies and the Crowning of the Tomato Queen on Friday evening, but it was great to see a festival all about tomatoes, and there were even motorcyclists meeting up at the Park.
