Summary: Rey takes his mask off around Batista for the first time

A/N: this ship is so cute op I completely understand you. They were so boyfriend coded until Batista beat him up… Short and sweet because work has been kicking my ass lately. If any of you lovely people have a request send it in! Working on an HBK one too. Title is from Unmasked by The Mountain Goats

Batista moved Rey’s head around slowly, trying to see if there was any blood behind the eyeholes of his mask. “Can’t believe that son of a bitch threw you around like that,” he murmured.

“Hermano,” Rey said, his voice strained, “you’re making it worse by moving la cabeza around like that.”

“Oh shit.” At once Batista took his hands away. “Low cuento.”

Rey laughed before bringing a hand to his forehead. “Lo siento, dude.” He looked up, his big brown eyes catching Batista’s, and they both laughed, doubling over and heaving until Rey clutched his head. “Shit, can you help me take this off? I need to check my forehead.”

Batista hesitated, his hands raised to help, but something held him back. “Hey, amigo,” Rey said, his voice barely a whisper, “it’s alright.”

Batista shook his head. “Your mask is important, right? I don’t want to disrespect your culture or anything.”

Rey smiled through his mask. “It’s different with you, you know? I trust you.” He bowed his head, showing the strings tying his mask to his face. Batista nodded, grabbing a string and slowly undoing it until Rey grabbed it off of his head.

The first thing Batista noticed was Rey’s fuzzy head, and he resisted the urge to run his hands over it. “Rey, baby? You feelin’ better now?” Rey looked up, and Batista finally saw all of his boyfriend. His big brown eyes, his laugh lines, his nose…all of it. And he loved all of it. “You’re so cute!”

“Hey!” Rey said, but Batista saw the smile on his face. Batista looked around, and was disappointed to see the doctor at the doorway. “I’m gonna kiss you so hard at the hotel,” he mumbled, too quiet for the doctor to hear.

Rey smiled. “You better.”

LOLOL. I could never write a Law and Order fic...the world in their shows are so complicated to me. it would be too hard to write..although Huang/Stabler would be a fabulous couple. ;)

Well, you found me. But close enough! :DDD Will you ever update Living Again? I neeeeeeeeeeed more! D: (I need to start writing Reytista again too, now that I think about it- it's been a while.)

I have a lot of Living Again chapters prepared, I just don't know if I should publish them as a fanfic. I'm honestly considering keeping the chapters up on Fanfic.net that I already posted, and then altering the rest of the story into a short novel and try to get it published as an original book eventually.
