With Wplace being quite popular and all and a group just finishing the Outskirts map on it in the middle of the ocean, I was thinking, what if we did something a bit more ambitious?
My idea is to make the full Rain World map in Wplace. We'd be using the map from the official Wiki to do so.
NOTE, THIS DOES CONTAIN ENDING SPOILERS FOR BASEGAME RAIN WORLD! If you have not completed the game at least once and don't want to see vanilla spoilers, you have been advised!
Using the full map, we'd be recreating it at a 1:1 scale. We'll need to be careful to make sure every pixel is placed properly, but I'm sure if we're careful enough, we can do this.
It'll take place in a remote part of the ocean, where there isn't any artwork anywhere near to be found.
It can be accessed at https://wplace.live/?lat=49.11139140571077&lng=-35.207139003222665&zoom=13.031641555114055 and we will be starting with The Depths. We should probably do this by working with adjacent pixels and outlining first, but as time goes on, coloring so it's easier to tell which rooms are which. We'll also be recreating the text and other details as best we can, effectively the goal is to recreate the map's image.
If you're going to write any messages for this, please do it under the start or somewhere you know won't be where there'll need to be pixels.
Some colors may also need to be bought using droplets (2000 for each locked color), so keep that in mind. As a reminder, each time you level up you get 500 droplets, and you get a droplet for every pixel placed as well.
One final note, try to mark mistakes if one is made and make sure to double check pixels. One small mistake can cause a lot of confusion and mess up everything further down the line! And keep the palette consistent too, go based off what fits best if the region has no defined palette yet, otherwise go based off what colors of pixels others have placed for that region so far.
For The Depths, the colors will be Yellow and Goldenrod for the main parts, and Gold and Dark Goldenrod for the Void Sea.
NOTE, if you are going to use the Blue Marble template, use these coordinates!
major appreciation to people who reblog the crap i post here, this blog is like a little bubble with how few people interact with it lmao
anyways, time for a little plug! if you want some random fish, here's a discord bot i made! https://discord.com/oauth2/authorize?client_id=1344028013070782514
there's a little leaderboard and stuff, you can check your progress with commands and how many times you've used it, etc.
ALL IMAGES ON IT ARE CREDITED TO WHERE I GOT THEM! i do not personally condone reposting/sharing images without giving proper credit, so it does its best to tell who made it, and it will never send an image if it is unable to properly credit who made it.
if you'd like to add to it, feel free to message me with images and whatnot, though i'll need a link for it to properly work
i can of course also remove images if you'd like me to.
the idea for the bot was to also make it easier to find artists, since a lot of what i've gathered can be from more obscure blogs (not too dissimilar to my own), where very few people have viewed. please go show some care to those who appear on randomrivulet!
if you put spoilers for something which just came out in thumbnails, titles, etc. then you deserve to have permanently soggy socks and your blankets and pillows always soggy and hot
i hate how when writing, you can be racking your mind for a replacement to a description of something because you don't want to repeat what you've already said. and then there's several ways to say you forgot.
arguing with my brain like
"Hey, there was another way to describe this, right?"
"..I think? I forgot, sorry."
"You sure? I swear there was.."
"I don't recall."
"But I swore-"
"I told you. I don't remember."
"But what about-"
"I have no recollection."
"But maybe if we start from-"
"My memory ain't serving m- us. Shush."
"Fine. But wait! There's-"
"No. my mind- I mean me, I'm turning up blank."
