Rey’s confused face when Finn or Han ask if she’s ok makes my heart break. She’s so used to being alone and tending for herself that people caring about her, asking if she’s ok is a totally foreign concept to her.
fINALLY saw The Force Awakens and
omg
it was so good
my feelings about tfa (very minor spoilers)
When I was growing up I super didn’t care about Star Wars. I was 25 when I saw the original trilogy and I thought they were a fun set of movies. Really I only watched them in preparation for The Force Awakens.
Leia was super badass and I loved her and her no-nonsense way of doing things. But Rey, jesus I am IN LOVE with Rey. I am actually jealous of little girls who get to watch this movie trilogy for the first time and they get to have Rey as their hero. Her bravery and her gumption and her friendship and need to help others is fucking amazing.
I’m really looking forward to the rest of this franchise, and it’s all because of her. How many movies have come out recently that were pretending to be about some guy, and then turned out to be about a girl who amazing skills?? I’m looking forward to the day when we don’t have to trick men into seeing movies about women.
I just... man Rey is so cool. I’m just so looking forward to seeing more of her. Of course Finn and Poe too (duh), but I have to hand it to Abrams, making this series about Rey vs Kylo Ren gives me nerdy feminism boners.
