heard a story today that stopped my scroll.
it came from a soldier, Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore.
he talked about a morning in november. leh-ladakh. a freezing outpost at -20°C.
a battle fought "to the last bullet, to the last man."
he was talking about the Battle of Rezang La. 1962.
120 Indian soldiers vs. 1300+ enemy troops.
in the end, 114 of our men were martyred.
but they took down almost the entire enemy force. they fought until there was nothing left. no bullets. no men.
their sacrifice saved a sector.
their story? it's supposed to inspire every soldier, every young person, every Indian.
and it does.
because how can you hear about that kind of raw, frozen courage and not feel something?
how can you not feel a debt to those 120 names?
today, i'm just thinking about them.
