The 120 vs. 1365: Saluting Rezang La’s Immortal Heroes!

A powerful tribute was held in Jaipur (Niwaru Road) for the heroes of the 1962 Battle of Rezang La, with Cabinet Minister Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore leading the salute.

The Story We Must Never Forget:

The Battle: Fought by the Charlie Company of the 13 Kumaon Regiment.

The Odds: 120 Indian soldiers vs. over 1365 Chinese troops in extreme cold!

The Victory: Our 120 heroes pushed the enemy back, securing one of the most incredible military feats in history.

Col. Rathore: "Such sacrifices will be remembered for centuries."

Honoring the Brave:

A Living Legend: The highlight was the presence of Captain Ramchandra Yadav (Vir Chakra), the last surviving veteran. Total respect!

Family First: Families of five martyrs were honored with deep emotion from the entire community.

The Record: Col. Rathore also released the book, 'Rezangla ke Parakrami Yaduveer'.

This event is a stark reminder: Our freedom is bought with the unmatched valour and supreme sacrifice of our soldiers. Jai Hind!

A Soldier Never Retires.

"A soldier is always ready to protect the country; he never retires. In such a situation, everyone will have to contribute to strengthening the nation." — Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore

This powerful message came from a ceremony honouring the 114 brave Ahir soldiers who sacrificed everything in the Battle of Rezang La (1962).

Col. Rathour, a soldier and minister, shared some straight-up truths:

Real courage isn't in the uniform. It's in your mind.

Strong leadership = A nation that moves forward.

The new war is tech-driven. We need to give our kids TECHNICAL EDUCATION.

It was a day to remember the past but also a call to action for the future. A reminder that building a strong India is a team effort, and everyone has a part to play.

Met a Legend today.

So, today was one of those days that just stops you in your tracks.

Went to the Rezangla Shaurya Diwas in Jaipur, organized by Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore. It was a tribute to the insane bravery of the soldiers in the 1962 war.

And then they honoured him.

Captain Ramchandra Yadav. Vir Chakra awardee. A literal hero from that war. A living, breathing piece of history.

I got to meet him. Shake his hand. Listen to him.

You know when you read about these epic figures in history books and they feel almost mythical? Meeting Captain Yadav was the opposite. He was real, present, and his quiet strength was overwhelming. You could look into his eyes and just know the stories were true.

It hits you differently. The price of freedom. The weight of sacrifice. It’s not an abstract concept; it’s in the firm handshake of a 80-something-year-old man who faced down an army.

The saga of India's brave soldiers is an enduring source of inspiration for all of us. And today, I felt it.

On this day, we remember a legend.

Major Shaitan Singh. Param Vir Chakra. Battle of Rezang La. 18 November, 1962.

He led 120 men against thousands. In the frozen heights of Ladakh, they fought. They held their ground. They became immortal.

His leadership was so profound that he refused to be evacuated when wounded, choosing to die with his men.

His sacrifice is not just a page in history. It's a living inspiration. It's the fire that fuels every soldier who stands guard at our borders today.

We remember. We honor.
