In this age of materialism we measure everything according to wealth, even closeness to Allah Ta'alaa i.e. people assume if Allah Ta'alaa blessed them with wealth, he must be pleased with them, if they are poor he's not pleased with them. This isn't the case as kings of the past and tyrants of the past like Qarun had abundant wealth, but they were distant from him. People ask me, what is better "Wealth or Poverty". I tell them "Whatever brings you closer to Allah Ta'alaa is good for you". Sayyiduna Uthman was wealthy, Sayyiduna Ali was poor, but their wealth or poverty wasn't a barrier to their closeness to Allah Ta'alaa. There are many paths that lead to Him. Path of charity, remembrance, knowledge, service. But the real question is "Who is taking the Path? Are we?
