Spent some time today replacing the capacitors in my Eico RF generator. I picked this up the same time as my capacitor tester.
Fortunately it was a fairly easy job (took about an hour). Still have the electrolytic to replace as well as a safety capacitor that goes from the AC line to ground. I’ll add those to the order I’m putting together.

Something a bit more exciting today...
Actually got a chance to test the Eico RF generator that I’d repaired in an earlier post, and it turns out that it works!
I turned it on and let it warm up for a bit (it’s tube driven, so it takes a few minutes). Then plugged it into my frequency counter (in kindof a janky way). I tuned the dial on the RF generator to 425khz and sure enough, that number showed up on the frequency counter.
The dial on the RF generator is a bit off, but not much. If I get ambitious I might find a calibration procedure for it, but for now it’ll be good enough for the RF alignment I want to do on the Philco 39-45, so that’s progress.
