Sometimes I feel like Im the only straight radfem out there and I get really uncomfortable when people here say straight women should be politically celibate or when people say "pray for straight women" because Id like to have a monogamous relationship someday
i've seen this sentiment a lot but as a bi radfem i sometimes feel unwelcome. i'm in a very happy and healthy relationship with a man and it seems as if my radfem friends are scrutinizing me all the time. they have called me straight before which hurts because that's not who i am and as feminists i expected them to understand and accept me.
Most of us who are straight just don't talk about it. The Cotton Ceiling made lesbians hypervisible, so you can't blame radical feminism for them. I hope you realize it's not lesbians telling straight women to make stronger communities for women to avoid all the drawbacks of cohabitating with a man. If you want a happy healthy monogamous relationship, most of us rad hetero women don't think that's possible. So we're going to talk about taking care of ourselves since nobody else does.
I'm a straight woman and sometimes I feel really lonely and idk like an outsider? because every radfem I know is a lesbian or bi & still has a love life & my straight normie friends date/fuck men (and complain how shitty they are yet still continue)
The only reason I'm not full febfem is because I'm disabled and financially trapped in this relationship with a man 2k miles from my homophobic family. Probably doesn't help that I have repressed my sexuality for over ten years and have absolutely zero resources or LGB people to reach out to
I am unsure of my sexuality. I used to think I was bisexual, then a lesbian, but then I fell in love with a guy (my current boyfriend) and I started to identify as bisexual again. What bothers me is that I am afraid I subconsciously made myself think I liked women because I didn’t wanna love my oppressors or at least I wanted to have a “choice” to date women instead of men even if I was attracted to men. I am afraid I am just straight but I am too scared to say that in the radfem community

I feel like in the radfem community, there's so much vitriol directed towards bisexual women specifically. And while i agree that there are trends of problematic behavior that I disagree with, it feels very unwelcoming and a bit like an animal devouring its own self at times. Not even straight women receive all this doubt and resentment. Sometimes it even feels like the very idea of being uncertain of your sexuality as a woman is lesbophobic if you aren't sure right away 200%
