Kinda upset by all of the heckling at Roll From The Hip Live yesterday, there was so much of it and it all came from one section of the room. It stopped the flow of the storytelling and you could see they were being polite, but even Luke went out of character today “we don’t have time for the awws!” It ruined the experience and I don’t think I’ll be able to go to live shows in London again because of it. It’s a long way to travel to listen to the audience.
Don’t get me wrong, what’s happening is exciting, but a live show is not a live chat comment section! It does ruin the experience and it makes me wonder if that’s one of the reasons they’re putting up old clips because the audience only call out and react when asked or appropriately.
Like the reaction to Jeremiah getting stabbed by the cube is warranted, but these individuals do it so often it takes away from the storytelling and drama, of an improv comedy show…they’re characters at the end of the day, yes they’re okayed by talented empathetic performers, but it does take away from what they’re doing and you can see them getting stumped and annoyed by it.
That being said, the show was amazing, they recovered quickly and there were some amazing moments.
Ive been rotating the conversation at the end of the 3rd episode between Maureen and Cheeky in my head for the past 12 hours now and, my god???
The whole moment is deeply hysterical because Aj isn’t wearing a shirt and Luke, Sam and Midge are losing it in the background but if you only pay attention to what is said, there’s so much Cheeky angst in that?
Maureen’s “You’re not one of the bad ones” countered by “I didn’t mean to be”. Which, implies that Cheeky thinks that he is one of the bad ones. Which is such a twist from just earlier on in the episode where he was still defending the mob goblins, saying they helped people. He’s realizing, and accepting, that the mob goblins did horrible stuff and he helped them do it! Telling Maureen “No you’s was too smart” (i think?) and effectively claiming she is in no way at fault for Rover’s death, but clearly blaming himself since Rover is part of the list of people he hurt. The “you deserve a better life” at the end, which is essentially something he has told Pete before. He wants others to get out of this mess, but never in that imagined future does he think he will ever get out.
And ofcourse the “I hurt everyone I try to help” which is heartbreaking on its own but following that with “John Nipples just wants to die, but I don’t know how to let him.” What does that even mean?? Is the poor cat cursed to keep on living in agony? Its been mentioned to be strangely old I believe but, unable to die? What did Cheeky do (or possibly: what happened and is he blaming himself for).

MASSIVE SPOILER FOR LOCK STOCK ENDING AHEAD!!!
I'm so glad they committed to the TPK. It just made sense and the more things went wrong, the less realistic them surviving became. It wouldn't have been the same if Midge had tweaked things to let them all survive. And they went out accomplishing what they set out to do. It's so tragic because Pete and Cheeky are finally free, but only in death. Chlorine's death was avenged, but Maureen got destroyed in the process. Carlos proved those who doubted him wrong, but he never got the respect and acceptance he deserved while he was still alive. And all John Nipples wanted was to die and yet he somehow survived anyway.

For the people confused about the crush on Sgt. Lewis, I’m also very ace but I used to work with kids and it is absolutely normal for them to get crushes that young; they’re just starting puberty. Obviously nothing will come of it because they’re kids and it’s just a silly first crush.
I really like the way AJ and Midge are playing it: with Monty thinking he’s being flirty when really he’s just making weird faces and not saying anything (perfect example of a tween mimicking what they think flirting is. AJ could’ve gone more explicit but he knows he’s playing a kid, so he’s doing it in a way that just comes off as awkward and sweet), and Sgt. Lewis either being totally oblivious or actively choosing not to engage with it because she knows that it’s not really that serious — at least not how Monty thinks it is. Let’s be honest, she’s the only woman that we know of working at an all-boys school where the students have no access to technology or the outside world. This probably isn’t the first time a kid has had a “crush” on her and she knows how to deal with it.
I actually think it’s pretty realistic for Monty to become attached to Sgt. Lewis because she was so kind to him and really believed and advocated for him when he was being falsely accused of things he didn’t do — plus the only other adult in his life is his grandmother. Kids get confused about what certain feelings are all the time: kind of similar to how a lot of ace folks grew up thinking they had to have a crush so they just pick someone at random. I personally believed that any boy who was nice to me must be in love with me because everything else I had experienced at that point in my life told me that boys weren’t nice to girls. Kid logic is very basic.
So no, I don’t think it takes anything away from Sgt. Lewis’ character if any of the boys have a crush on her. The guys clearly respect the shit out of her, and I trust them to honor that.

If Pete doesn’t become Pete again I will cry okay send post

i love it when people draw pete with wider-set thighs on his frame. it makes sense from a robot perspective to have enough space between the “thighs” and the “crotch” area so the porcelain doesnt grate on itself, but also it gives him a more feminine look which i think suits his gender-fuckery thing going on really well. he’s not a man or a woman, he’s a robot, so who gives a fuck about his proportions? it’s awesome
.
I love that before the story starts, and AJ is introducing us to Monty or before the Fiend Trip, it’s almost like Monty is his little buddy who he looks after and sometimes has to be released for enrichment.
During the campaign, he IS Monty. And he plays the character beautifully.
But before it, it’s like he’s checking in on Monty.
Like how is Monty doing?
*checks to see that Monty is currently sewing himself a wolf costume*
*sees that Monty is throwing a soirée with Professor Chaise Longue*
*Monty following Sargent Lewis down the corridor*
Yeah he’s doing great.
