HGBF 1/144 Powered GM Cardigan
Had this preordered two weeks before it came out. Loved the design so much but hated the colour. Then I decided why not, I'll preorder this shit, I don't have a Jim yet. It fit because I wanted to get either a GM III or Powered. Why? One word. Delicious tiered vents. And since this came with that and more dakka I did it despite not liking the colour scheme. So here we are.
Let's get to the kit. It's based on the semi-recent HGUC Powered GM mold with the exception of the dakka, different shoulders, backpack and knees/lower legs. I haven't built a kit from this era so it was nice to see how everything went together. I noticed it had peg to polycap for attaching the arms and gawd dayum I love that. It feels more solid to me for some reason. Double jointed all that jazz and stuff, pretty normal things. If you've built the Powered GM then you've built this so there aren't any surprises. The arms on the backpack work like the one on the Crossbone Maoh, in sectioned pieces and using plastics for pivoting and everything. The guns on the back are kinda two stage so you can pull the fronts off and mod something bigger onto it which is nice. There's also not that many stickers used for colour separation, some call it lazy on bandais part, i don't care. The mid white on the torso is a stick, the black on the ankle armor and the black dots on the forearms as well. Oh and of course shiny red and white for the crotch pit colouring. And sensors fuck. But other than that yeah, solid kit.
While I say solid there are some downfalls. Very little articulation in the feet and ankle. The ankle armor will also like to pop apart if you move it which is annoying so it doesn't move much at all. The only other real issue I had was that the hand for the gun comes apart when trying to pose. The fingers just aren't held on tight, I tried to make it better with some superglue to tighten but nada. Also won't melt since it's ABS and I don't have that kind of cement so I went with the pose in the pics instead of one where the left hand was gripping the second handle. Lastly the arms do kind of like to make their way south of the shoulders
