Paint in progress. Using mainly MRP paints, lacker and acrylic. I must recommend it because it is a problem free airbrush paint, and the pigments are good quality. Here we can see the underbelly done plus staring with the main cammo... notice the strong yellow, it will have to be tone down with washes and filters. I can’t wait to start the weathering 😎. Double the pleasure, double the pain: I read reviews and some of you guys warned me about some part fitting issues with this kit. I particularly found it a bit hard the wings. Somehow the inner structure on the lower wind sat too proud and gave some problems to get a gap free fit. Some after some sanding and test fitting I positioned the upper wings. This left still some gaps and seams that had to be dealt with, so Perfect plastic putty by Deluxe Materials was used. It is water based, so as you can see from the short video is easily removed, once dry, with a wet cotton bud and rubbing gently along the seams. Once it absorbs a bit of moisture, it will start to dissolve leaving you only with the almost perfect fill. More progress on the office. The absolute tiny PE parts were put on the dashboard... all of them not measuring more than a millimetre or two. A challenge to the pulse!. I also noticed that Eduard seats were a bit vague, not even a cushion to stick to the base so I have made my own one from good old putty. The trick is to let it dry enough to hold the texture/weathered lines and reshape the putty until desired effect. Then it will be painted and weathered with oils for that little extra used look. Doesn’t happen often but it did. Gripen had irreparable damaged. Quite disappointed with Italeri plastic quality... it is just too soft. In all my time building models only two kits were beyond repair, first one was a Zvezda 1/72 Mi-26 and this one. I will stay away from both manufacturers for a while.
